The Southern Exposure Steering Committee is extending a call to all American
Indian, Alaskan Native, Canadian First Nation, Native Hawaiian, Meso, Central,
and South American Indian, and Caribbean Indian artists for application to
Southern Exposure: A Celebration of the Indigenous Americas' juried art market
and art show ...

Forty-eight booth spaces will be available to adult artists, and one double
booth space has been designated for entries from the youth divisions. The
committee estimates aproximately 48-80 adult artists (dependent on entries from
family members willing to share space, and entries from art guilds and art
associations) will be accepted.

The market and show consists of four age divisions: Adult - 18 and older; Youth
Division I - ages 13 through 17; Youth Division II - ages 8 through 12; Youth
Division III - ages 7 and under. Nine categories for entry include: Jewelry;
Pottery; Paintings, Drawings, Graphics & Photography; Traditional Carvings;
Sculpture; Textiles & Baskets; Diverse Arts; Fine Art - Furnishings; and Fine
Art - Couture (Apparel). Artists in all age divisions have from now until
January 15, 2004, to file their applications and submit slides or digital
images of their work.

In addition to 1st through 3rd places in each division for each category,
prizes will be given for "Peoples' Choice," and "Artists' Choice." Other
"sponsored" prizes may be announced at a later date. A poster contest is also
being held. The winning entry will be featured on the poster for the 2005
event.

Artists entering the Southern Exposure juried art market and show must qualify
under the Indian Arts & Crafts of 1990 (or equivalent criteria, dependent on
country/nation of origin). For more detailed information, or to obtain a copy
of the standards and application forms, or to download a "pdf" or MS Word
formatted copy of this press release, please visit
