That is another little white lie by ss. The hunting crew went home to
sleep and rest it is true. Then team two took over. They were the ones
that cleaned and butchered the whale. In the photos that ss waves
around you can clearly see the one they called the quartermaster. He
participated and supervised the butchering and distribution. Is ss so
stupid that they would expect those who spent all day paddling to also
stay up all night to do the butchering? It's a team effort. But you're
not Tribal are you? Since Whaling Chief Arnie Hunter is a Vietnam Vet,
and most of the Makah are veterans, they used army terms. Indians
served even when boys without color chickened out. The next team saw
to the butchering of "Yabis." They distributed the whale to the
community and held a great feast. I will never forget it. It lasted
well into the night. The whale was delicious. It was a hard fought
victory. All other Tribes had to face the racism stirred up by ss. We
rejoiced. Puyallup and Tulalip had already sent their canoes in
support of the Makah. I saw my friend Connie, the Puyallup captain, on
the news. Racist antiwhalers had thrown a sign into their sacred
canoe. It said canoe of fools. She sadly took it out. She just said it
was too bad. When the Makah got their whale, racist terrorists called
in bomb threats to the Puyallup and Tulalip Tribal schools. That is
one of the biggest shames of ss. You threatened our babies. Your hate
knows no bounds. I will go toe to toe with any of you mfers. Children
are sacred. They should be out of bounds. We have never attacked or
threatened your children. We are honorable People. On the day of the
feast racist antiwhalers put up signs saying "Neah Bay" pointing to
logging roads into the mountains. You guys had long lines of cars
driving very slow to the reservation boundary and turning around,
going back to Sekiu and starting over. None of that worked or dampened
our celebration. This was our biggest victory since the Little
Bighorn. LOL! It was beautiful. People came from across this country
and Canada. They had their Tribes name and Reservation painted on
their cars. Everyone was so proud of the Makah. There was a man who
came from Africa and a woman from one of the Polynesian Islands. They
both wore their Traditional dress and were so beautiful. The African
man's dress was made of lion. He wore the mane and teeth and claws. He
said they hunted and ate the lion. It was sacred to them. He said the
people without color that were ruling forbid the hunting of lion. The
Tribes children were starving to death. There was no food. Another
form of people without color committing genocide. The Polynesian woman
spoke. She was a chief. In her culture women are chiefs. She said the
women would stand on the beach and sing. Soon a pod of whales would
come. They would listen to the song and one would leave the pod and
beach itself. They understand sacrifice and offering. Your peoples
genocide attempts against may have knocked us off our real path for a
second. The Makah hunt put us back where we are supposed to be. You
will never be able to take that away from us. We won.
