A concrete statue of historic Spokane leader Chief Garry in a park that bears his name was so severely damaged by vandals that it crumbled as workers removed it.
Spokane art director Karen Mobley says the statue will be replaced by an American Indian-themed sculpture by Northwest artist David Govedare.
