Hi all.
Here is the information of the game as promised.
Also I've added the same stuff to my web page for longer term reference
The link is http://members.optusnet.com.au/pagrin01/ goto my games and
you'll see a link there for the game.

You can post your character ideas to this thread, but I'll start a
second thread with the game once I have some of the characters worked out.

Fire in the blood.
General information;
The common setting for this game will seems more or less contemporary,
with only a few small alterations for the normal world as most people
know it to be. That is people have jobs, where they work to earn money
to buy food, lodgings, etc. There is mass media, police, governments,
taxes, traffic etc.
However they are other elements to the game. Elements from “history”.
These will be revealed as the game progresses, as will the talents and
skills which characters will gain.
Starting characters are all ordinary humans, no special powers, no
exotic backgrounds, all very plain and seemingly boring.
(Trust me things will become more interesting. Much more.)

Character generation;
First name; Your choice, but please don’t add surnames. I will supply
families for you. This name will also define your gender.
Age; Nothing younger than 16, nothing older than 50.
What you do for a living; Your choice of mundane, day to day employment.
Personality type; Are you aggressive, passive, artistic, hard nosed,
noble minded, and or servile.
Equipment; The few small items you carry around with yourself every
day. Don’t list the 6 different types of shoe your character owns, or
how many songs are on your Ipod. Just what your character would have in
his/her pockets when they go to work in the morning.

When you post your character to the newsgroup I’ll go over it, and
privately send you a final version with any extras or corrections that
might be needed. I will also post a public version to the group.

Posting;
Because it was always a little hard in the past to know when people were
going to post, I’ll set a few rules here. I’ll post once a week, to
update plots extra and keep things moving along. I’d like people to try
and do similar if they can.
When you are involved with a scene with other characters, you can feel
free to use them in a limited fashion, as long as your don’t make
decisions for them. Inter-character banter is fine, which is why there
will be public versions of the characters. Please try and maintain other
peoples character styles as best you can.

FAQ:
How do I start?
Once you have gotten your character back from me, you can post to the
game thread on the newsgroup. You can either add yourself to the current
scenes, or start a new scene as you wish.
How do I post?
There are several threads on the newsgroup. One is for character
generation for you to post your character ideas to and for final
versions of your public character.
The other thread is for the game action itself. You can post here about
what your character is doing, and how they are behaving.
Can I join in even after the game has started?
Yes, just post your character idea to the character thread.
How often should I be posting?
At least once a week if you can. You can post more often if you like,
but as GM I will be posting weekly.

Gosh what an underwhelming response.
Ok. So as I see it there are two options here.
1 we give it another week to see if anyone wants to actually submit a
character.
or 2 people don't seem interested in the game so we drop it altogether.
If the choice is 2, then do people what me to come up with something
else, or forget the whole think?

Sorry it's taken me so long. Quite some unexpected things popped up. I'm
getting my character on paper and I'll have it up in a day if not sooner.

OK well. I'm still waiting on anyone to submit a character. I was hoping
to have people post once a week for the game, but it doesn't look like
that will happen.
As a last chance I'll hold of canceling the game until next Friday. I'll
need at least two people to submit characters before then.

Deadline for characters was today.
With no one having submitted anything, I call this formally dead.
To be honest I'm a little disappointed about this. I'd like to see this
newsgroup continue, and I'm happy to reply to questions about any
creature I know about.
I was asked to run a game, and indeed people seemed keen for that to happen.
I think before any RPG is looked at again the people asking need to ask
themselves if they really want to commit to it.
