This pisses me off.

In reading these articles, the protesting groups have written the NFL
Commissioner, Bridgestone Tire Co., and the US Immigration &
Nationalization Service. I for one will write a letter & mail (not
email) these same recipients with an outline the true facts of the
case (including published public records as documentation) and tell
them that this entire "protest" is self-promotion on the part of these
"advocacy" groups. Pete Townshend was entirely vindicated and the
operation that tried to ensnare him itself was found to be corrupt.
I encourage you to write a similar letter if you feel the same as I
do.

[snip]
In his response to Daly’s request to drop The Who, the NFL’s
Joe Browne, head of public relation,
pointed out that Townshend viewed one child abuse photo and
didn’t download the material. Browne
also wrote that Townshend has been known to support children’s
charities. The NFL, Browne added,
“has worked hard in recent years to ensure the (halftime show)
is suitable for . . . mass audience.”
[snip]

The pen is mightier than the sword.

Here are email addresses for two of the sites involved in the protest
against The Who playing at the Superbowl. It might be a good idea to
send a note to the owners letting them know what Pete means to you and
pointing out that he was proved innocent of any charges by a complete
investigation. Remember to be polite, even though this is an emotional
issue for some. These guys (although very obstinate) think they're
doing the right thing. Thanks to all for helping out with this.

Evin Daly- ed...@abusewatch.net - calling for no Superbowl
Kevin Gillick- prot...@netzero.net - calling for no visa

By the way, Pete did NOT buy or view illicit porn at the Landslide
site. His credit card charge and IP address were eventually traced and
it was found he went to an ordinary adult porn site. This was recently
removed at Wikipedia, but I've put it back in today. Check the article
out for further references (near bottom). Also, please help me keep an
eye on this. It seems the passage that proves Pete innocent is
annoying to some readers, who want to delete it.

Here are addresses of articles supporting Pete's innocence:

Please pass this along the Relay. Thanks! :)
