Anyone else getting excited about Rog's tour that starts in a couple of
days? Anyone else planning to go?
Although I live just a little north of San Francisco, I'm going to
Southern California to see the 3 shows he's putting on there, and I'm
getting really excited about it.
Since the first show isn't until Saturday in Canada, the only things I've
read is the few interviews where he says he'll be doing solo matterial
he's never done before, and re-done Who tunes.
Why cares? Whatever he does will be great!
BTW, I was the guy asking last month about Quad tours of Brighton.
Although I did spend a few weeks in rural England, I never made it to
Brighton after all. Maybe next time?
With good seats bought long ago, no way I'll be missing Daltrey.

there is going to be some good music here and the opportunity to see
him and his band in a
small venue is something I couldnt pass up. As long as his voice
holds up these shows
should be smokin!!!!

And had a great time at all 3 shows. And so did Roger.
He did the same basic setlist, with maybe a few exceptions, at each show.
They were grouped into Who songs, and songs from Roger's solo albums. And
what a difference that made. During the Who songs, everyone was up on
their feet, dancing and screaming and singing along. And when he did his
solo songs, everyone sat down.
I'm not much on remembering setlists, but I just read another thread, and
most of the songs were the same, with a few exceptions each night. They're
also probably listed somewhere online.
All in all, I loved each show and am glad to have taken this roadtrip.
That said, I had no idea it got to be almost 100 degrees in mid-October in
Southern California, and that traffic, oh my gawd, the traffic. It was a
good thing there was a day off, as I ended up spending the off night at
a hot springs in Desert Hot Springs (best before 8am).
The only thing that seemed weird to me is the story Roger told each
night...of how this show was basically to warm up his vocal chords
for when Pete comes up with some new music to record in December (or
after). It almost made it sound like a dress rehearsal to him.
Nonetheless, his voice was in good shape, although he admitted to having
problems hitting certain notes. And he sure looked young for his age.
No running around in circles on the stage anymore, but plenty of
microphone twirling.
I'm so glad I went to all 3 SoCal shows. I had a wonderful time.
If and when he comes to where you live, don't hesitate. You'll have a
great time.
And, with me being 62 and Roger being a few years older, I have to admit
that when I left that last show, I wondered if that'd be my last time to
see Roger Daltrey in person. I hope not, but if you don't use it, you lose
it.
There was no security at all in LA or San Diego, so be on the lookout for
some of those shows showing up online.

setlist I'd like to see. Few solo numbers and no Going Mobile and
Cache Cache in set. Like I need to hear the standards again, good
thing. The Who next year? May be willing, let's see.
