Why could you possibly have a problem with what's left of the Who
playing the Super Bowl? It's not like the band has had any real
"integrity" for about 30 years. I suspsect you are worried about them
stinking up the joint compared to some of the other ancient acts
they've had on the Super Bowl over the last decade.

Really it was a couple of 80s acts - U2 and Prince - that have turned
in the best super bowl shows. The 60s and 70s acts haven't been as
good.

They should get a hospice to sponser it from now in if they are going
to keep going this route - it's getting pretty cheesy.

My concern about this is that the majority of the viewers are casual
fans and don't know about Roger's blue tinted glasses...and Pete's
'little hat.'

The SB halftime show gets a lot of scrutiny...so if they DO it...they
will probably be prepared.

It's not like the Concert for NYC.

First...it's almost 9 years later...and acts like the STONES were ripped
for their show.

I hope they figure out what to do.

They may lip-sync...and get ripped for THAT.

I liked Springsteen...but THEY were ripped for 'orchestrating '
everything.

It's just not music critics on that day...it's everyone.

If Simon T. came out as Pete...and did a nice job on a song...95 of the
audience wouldn't know.

And...how many people will think that Zak is Keith?

So much can go wrong.

I agree with all of those points. They will be under the microscope
for sure....but the critics can go f**k themselves because the Who may
not be great, but they will be exceptionally good. At 65, 75, or
85...they will still be very good, so I'm all for it. And Pete is
probably waiting for my approval before issuing the press release, so
Pete, you've got my OK. Call the press.

Nothing will go wrong. They'll play Baba, WGFA, and Who are you (bank
on it - that's the setlist) which they have played a billion times. It

Still, they really need to stop booking these acts that are well into
their 60s. How about someone like Green Day?

It only seems that way. Late 30s. Only a quarter century or so younger
than the Who.

You have to admit these nursing home halftime shows are getting to be
a bit much. Who are they going to dig up next year? I'm guessing Tina
Turner or Neil Diamond.

I saw Roger Tuesday at the Count Basie and he confirmed that the Who
are playing the Superbowl halftime. BTW, what a great show he put
on. It was even better than I expected it to be...and he's a great
guitarist in his own rite.

WE'LL love 'em...but I hope that Pete understands how much the show is
analyzed.

He may think that 'The Concert for NYC' was big...but superbowl halftime
is written about by every goof reporter in the world.

(Just look at the superbowl media day)

That said...in typical WHO fashion...Pete may just think...

"Who CARES?" what they say.
