Roger was suffering from a bad cold. Kept sipping tea, and his voice
was shaky for some songs.

Very conversational with the audience. Expressed his love for Hank
Williams and Johnny Cash, and said the Ryman was unlike any other
place he'd ever performed. "Maximum R & B," my ass! Roger's a
country and western singer!

Roger held a guitar for more than half the show. Sometimes he even
seemed to be playing it.

Random thoughts:

The drummer was great, especially on ICSFM, YMB and Going Mobile.

I can't tell. Am I the only one who actually owns the album "Largo"?

What other songs are in the Cash medley? I Got Stripes, Folsom Prison
Blues, two I don't know, and Ring of Fire. Bueller? Bueller?

Roger's playing FOUR shows at 3 venues in NEW JERSEY, and only ONE in
New York. What does THAT show?

I was at last night's show too. I thought that it was great. Simon did
a great job with "Goin' Mobile". I think that The Who attempted "I Can
See For Miles" in 1989 and I thought that it was terrible. For
whatever reason, it just didn't work on stage. Last night was a
different story. It was excellent. Roger's guitar player (the one
other than Simon) was really good as well.

My only criticism was that Roger talked too much between songs. It
slowed the show down. I know that it was probably to give his voice a
bit of rest, but I'd have preferred less talk.

Overall though, I had a great time.

Did they use the Who's backing tapes for BOR? Can't imagine it working
without them.

Yes, but not for WAY.

After Tattoo, they played a few snippets from the Radio London promos
from WSO.
