"As I've mentioned previously, this has been a brutal summer for many
tours. On a side note, the recession has been brutal on magazine
publishers as well." - Rushgedlife, 10/3/2009

Another Hagar fanboy excuse for poor concert sales debunked and
flushed down the toilet:

Best year ever for movies and great year for concerts *despite* the
recession... poor Hagar fans, fucked again, must come up with new
excuses why the Hagar-led Chickenfoot struggled to fill 2500 seaters
while tired, half-baked acts like KISS played major arenas.

U2 finished with $123 million in North America and Bruce Springsteen
in second with $94 million

"Pollstar editor Gary Bongiovanni said the overall concert business
bucked the recession, mirroring a similar phenomenon at movie
theaters."

"Audiences have given Hollywood a big present in advance of Christmas
-- U.S. and Canadian movie ticket sales for 2009 were expected to
cross the annual $10 billion mark on Tuesday night for the first
time."
