Bono, you are a fucking rock star. You have more money than God.
Instead of buying designer clothes, flying on private jets and living
a lavish lifestyle, why don't you give some of your quid to fucking
Bangladesh? It looks like you're out for your own image as a
compassionate socialist rather than actually doing something. Punk.

Look stop picking on Bono, we can all make a difference to this world and I
think he does far more work for charity than you will ever do.

Erm sorry?? What the hell has his lifestyle got to do with anything?? Can I
ask you how much you earn and what percentage of that you have donated to
the debt in the third world?? And whats wrong with being a punk anyway??
They're cool and better than being some arse that still says 'in da house'!!
Have a nice day!

He probably realises that one man's money is not enough to end the
suffering. By making his considerations public he attracts more to people to
campaign and to give aid, which collectively does a lot more good. Also I
can't help but notice you picking on him has something to do with him being
a rock star - if he wasn't, you wouldn't give him any hassle. Punk.

Hi Stoess,
Sorry I got to your post relatively late (here in Ireland it is so hard to
maintain an electrical supply - it keeps seeping through the thatch roof,
you know). I just wanted to say that your post was really not that
interesting and why don't you fuck off! Seriously though, the man you are
criticising has raised more cash and, more importantly, raised awareness of
crucial world issues over the years such that your accusations sound like
some U2- troll outburst. Whatever the future holds this band has paid it's
dues (period).

Tommy.

You do have somewhat of a point.....even though you are a troll.....but
would you rather he do nothing at all? All rock stars are over-paid.
Deal with it.

He actually IS doing something. Look at it this way, if
Bono convinced the other three member to pool their wealth
and use it to pay off a portion of that debt, it'll still
make a relatively minor dent. Understand the phrase "debt
relief." It's not the same as "give you money to the poor."

It's common knowledge that Bono was one of the biggest
advocates of Live Aid back in the 80s, not only performing
but also spending time in Africa as a volunteer relief
worker. In one year they raised $200 million and all the
performers were justifiably ecstatic. Later they discovered
(to paraphrase Bono's own words) that $200 million is what
Africa gives each week to repay old loans. And this just
interest. They're not even cracking the principle. You
know how some saying buying a house on a 30-year morgage
means the first 15 or so years of payment is just getting
through the interest? Same concept but on a far greater
scale. And they're paying this back to what are essentially
richest western nations who for the most part, might
actually get along quite well without any repayment.

It may seem like rhetoric but he's doing so much more.

Dan-E

P.S. I wonder if I can get Bono to do something my college
loans... ;)
