ot; newest art craze

I picked up a copy of some art magazine last night, having not been into any
art made post-early 1900's I really didn't know what I'd find. The main
story was some new art piece by some French asshole who painted a canvas all
red. all red. all red. what the fuck? Abstract art can look pretty in
some settings but imo it's worthless. I guess to the majority of people art
is aesthetic and nothing more.

I agree. (Post)Modern Art rarely deserves to be called art. Modern poetry
is, by and large, utter crap. 20th-21st century music has been a mixed bag
(with the shit rising to the top of the charts). The only form of art that
has substantially improved over the past 400 years is literature.

Some modern art and post modern art is amazing when you see the art, but not
in photos of it.
I think literature has gone down hill for the last twenty years.
