Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson have fallen victim to
sex tape controversies -- is TMBG next?
Star magazine says a sex tape of John Flansburgh and bandmate John
Linnell exists! Star reports Linnell, 50, allowed Flansburgh, 49, to
record what happens behind closed doors and he's worried the tapes
will ruin his reputation.
A source tells the mag, "Linnell has no issues with his sexuality."
The source continues, "He'd be mortified if his friends and family
found this out!"
Rumors are also swirling about the couple taking a break. It was
reported Flansburgh was spotted getting off a plane with other
companions in Virginia. Some say this could be Mono Puff, his side
project.
Unless it was April Fool's Day, in which case, it wouldn't surprise me
in the least. Especially if it involved one of them wearing a paper
Nixon mask.
Quinn
Dude, you know we must, like, pay them off and make this happen. For
reals.

OMG dude AWESOME FANFIC IDEAS HAPPENING NOW. WE NEED TO TALK. :D
Quinn
Ok, ok, I should be resisting the urge to reply to obvious trolling,
but...writing fanfic is stalking now? I must have missed that memo.
Quinn
You're not going to like what I have to say on the subject (I'm sure
nobody here is surprised at that, coming from me), and I don't mean
you any personal offense, but I do find it somewhat disturbing that
there are whole communities online dedicated to writing fictional,
fantastical stories about two living individuals whom would probably
be even more put off by the whole notion. Writing fan fiction about a
videogame or a literary character is one thing, but ... well ... if
there was Alex Simko slash fiction out there involving me doing this,
that, and the other thing with this, that, and the other person/animal/
object, well...I'd feel pretty degraded and objectified, as if I were
a girl. To be blunt, if anyone ever writes an Enlightened Monkeys (my
former band) or "the fucking" (my current band) fanfic, I'd go out of
my way to never have any contact with them, and I'd also wonder how
bad their love life must be that their outlet for their sexuality is
to write borderline slander about someone they know they will never
get into bed with.
Flame away.

To each their own and people are certainly free to like what they
want, and be creeped out by whatever they want, but I think you're
looking into it too deeply.
~Colby
Yeh, because John Linnell would be my BFF if I didn't write slash. You
know it.

Ok well, first of all, there's more to fanfic, even slash, than sex
scenes, you know, and anyway, are you telling me you never have
fantasies, about anything? Does that mean you're messed up somehow? I
don't think using various things as an outlet for whatever has to mean
there's something wrong with you. Lex, you know I love you, but Colby
is right, don't think about it too hard. It's not hurting anybody and
I don't think it's like people are sending over copies to The Johns or
anything.
Quinn
Yeah. Bring back "John and John's World of TDK"! That wasnt about
perversions at all.
> It's not hurting anybody
I'm sure it's pretty harmless and highly unlikely that it would lead
to any actual harm upon the band, as the 50% of the Beatles who
weren't shot or stabbed by fans would testify to.
Baz
I see what you're saying, though I didn't mean to imply that he would.

Well yeah, I realize that the term fanfic does not imply sex. I've
read fanfics which contained no sex but which still made me scratch my
head and go "hmm"...and not because of the big words either d:
> and anyway, are you telling me you never have

I don't believe I said having fantasies was messed up. It's just that
I, personally, would be creeped out to read a fictional story about me
and my bandmates doing this, that, or the other thing, whether or not
said things were sexual.
> I

I never said it meant something was wrong with you (or anyone, for
that matter) - the only thing I said was that I figured the people in
question's love life must suck. I realize this isn't necessarily true,
so I'm going to rephrase that and say that their love life *might*
suck.

Okay, fair enough. I'm all for creative freedom and I'm certainly not
going to tell you not to write fanfic or slash. I was just expressing
my personal feelings towards it and I'm sorry if I offended you or
Colby. I guess my bottom line here (literally (well, besides the two
lines below this (yes, I know I just used a banned word))) is that *I*
would be a bit put off at seeing a Lex slash. Fortunately, given my
track record with people in general, I don't think I have to worry
about that XD

P.S. Thanks for spoiling my secret identity; now I have to pick
another pseudonym so nobody realizes I'm the same immature asshole who
was the resident (borderline) troll here back in the early 2000s :P
"Perversions" as in, like, how you perverted the spelling of the word
"wasn't"? OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! YOUR MOM SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND YOUR
MAMA'S SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S
YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well now, that's taking it a bit far even by my standards. If you were
a politician in my political party and I was running for office, I'd
have to make it clear that your stance didn't reflect the party's as a
whole, nor my own personal dogma.
