I have just dug out my old U-20 from the loft after about 10 years of
inactivity. Much to my surprise the internal battery still seems fine and my
patches are all still intact (I only wish I could remember how to do
anything!). However the usual Roland problem of keys not playing has
arisen...in fact I only have about 15 keys working! Does anyone know if it
is easy to get to the pads to clean them...can they be cleaned? Must they be
replaced and do the spare parts exist anywhere?

I'm looking forward to using my synth again and these days I have a decent
PC to run a sequencer from...just hope I can still play the thing!

All that I can tell you is that I tries to solve this by opening the
beast as much as could open it.
I did take about 25kg of dirt, crums, dust and you name it.
But It didn't help to keys to work again like they used to.

So I bought a new keyboard.
I understand that's not your point to buy new stuff, but I think you
won't be able to solve you r issues without a professionnal.
