IT'S WRITING ITSELF! ...I am the narrator. Connections manifesting all
over the place. I have a "Roses split" chapter coming that is based on
nothing but facts, statements, and comparisons thereof. I am going to
write it as a lawyer would, and it will be very hard to ignore. There
will be nothing about license plates in that chapter, nothing about the
spirit, just common sense. If you have been following oNLS and you are
still with me, you will be very excited and happy. If you are wallowing
in self importance and aren't enjoying the trip....you will be frustrated
becase your ego will not want to admit that your insight isn't as deep as
the spirit's (me). Let go and it will be.

In any case, this chapter IS about coincidences, not just any, but our
favorite kind here at ONLS central....license plates with 69 in them, and
so much more. Where do I begin? I will get to the fireworks later, but
first some background. After all, without context where would we be?
(trick question, any takers)

I guess the best way to start is to refresh everyone's memory about the
number 69. Last year spirit changed its main communication line with me
from the word "SYLVAN" to the number "69" ...and more specifically, the
number "69 in license plates." For those of you who have been listening
since the beginning, you will remember the numerous postings about that
number, and also "The Quantum Magnet" tape/art which featured a song
called, "69."

69 isn't just any number. It is the numerical symbol for YIN YANG...the
opposing forces in nature. Love and hate, good and evil, etc.... the yin
yang symbol for those of you who don't know what it is, is that circular
symbol that is half white and half black, but is twisted and swirls into a
figure that looks like the number 69. In the black part there is a small
white dot, and in the white part a small black dot.

I had mentioned the number in relation to Reverend Marilyn Manson, being
the 6 to my 9 because he believes he is the antichrist in the name of
hate, and I am Spirit of truth in the name of love etc. Whether you're
having it or not, just relaize that HE lives it real and so do I. the
confrontation is cooming. The yin yang 69 angle is prevalent here because
his band and my band were revealled to the press in the same article five
years ago when we both were starting out (see the post about it by The
lorax) I told you to watch 120 minutes when he was on with Mat
coincidentally during the week we became aware of him....sure as shit, he
made a point of discussing his belief that this year, 1996 has some karma
coming to it becuase of 1969....that was the end of the Love years and now
it's time for hate is what he was saying coyly...69=96, I've been saying
that to you for a while now. Don't blink. It's just a coincidence that
he talked about it too.

Jump to about four weeks ago. There was a documentary about Bruce Lee on
the A&E channel....a two hour biography/documentary on his life. My
friend Kathy Jo taped it for me, and when I watched it I learned a lot
about Bruce Lee that I didn't know about. First off, he defied the
traditional hierarchy of Martial Artists in the oriental section of
Oakland where he was teaching. They didn't want him to teach foreigners
(whites, blacks hispaniccs, etc) at all, only orientals. Bruce told them
to fuck off, and they sent a warrior to his school to fight him. If he
lost the battle he would have to close his school, if he won he could
teach whoever he wanted. He chose to fight, and he won...but just barely.
It was after the fight that Bruce began to realize he wasn't perfect.
He then began to dedicate his life to becomming perfect, and for this he
knew he must actually become the spirit.

Bruce made up his own form of Martial Arts called, Jeet Kune Do. Jeet
Kune Do is about the form of having "no form." Bruce believed one should
be like water or wind while fighting. But to Bruce, the fight was not one
against other people. To Bruce Lee, the ultimate fight was your spirit
vs. your ego. Every punch that Bruce threw was directed at his own
ego....This form of martial art was a conglomeration of all styles,
philosophies and spirituality. But the most interesting thing about Jeet
Kune Do is that it was something always temporary....Bruce emphasized the
use of what worked under each situation, and since every fight ever fought
was different than any other fight ever fought, Bruce understood that the
stagnation in traditional forms of martial arts made them obsolete, and so
Bruce encouraged his students to evolve the art even if that meant
forgetting the name Jeet Kune Do. He only called it Jeet Kune Do because
he had to call it something, but he was not limited to it or any other
martial art. Bruce was about adaptation.

He understood the styles which came to him from spirit. Bruce believed
that a person had to kill their ego and let their will be guided by
spirit. Everyone they interviewed for this documentary agreed that
Bruce's theories were based on a perfection of Mind, Body and Spirit. He
believed mankind had the ability to transcend the human condition if man
would simply let go of his ego and service his spirit instead.

Karim Abdul Jabbar was picked by Bruce to co-star in "Game of death."
When they fight in the movie it is a total yin yang thing going on, huge
Karim vs. small Bruce....good vs. bad, etc. There were levels of meaning
thrown into his movies. He played the good guy fighting against evil, and
that was the message on the simplest level. But the more you know about
spirituality the more you can see in his movies....they work on many
different levels depending on the viewers level of awareness....sort of
like Jesus' parabbels, and the Stone Roses' lyrics. Karim called Bruce a
"renegade taoist preist." Let me make an anology to "Mersey Paradise" by
the Roses for a minute. I have discussed this song in detail before. On
one level the song is about the struggle to give up your wants and needs
and surrender to the spirit. The song is about the individual's fear of
letting go and swimming in the river of the spirit. "Rivercool's where I
belong." To be cool in HER river is where it's at. You don't want to be
in "the dark black pits or places where we fall to bits." That's the
domain of the ego.

But what happens to you when you are trying to follow HER and you land in
the dark black pits anyway? You want to lash out at HER.....how could SHE
do this to you?

"if SHE were there I'd hold HER down
I'll push HER under water SHE drowns
it couldn't be that hard for HER
SHE doesn't care for my despair....."

SHE doesn't, because SHE knows that is just self importance, and whatever
SHE just put you through was HER way of helping you destroy your
allegiance to your ego....so that you could find your true power...

"or is it me, I'm the one who is wrong
you see it in the tea
rivercool's where I belong"

You realize that you are the one who is wrong, not HER. SHE has no ego,
SHE is like the river, and so you go back to HER cool flowing beauty where
you first began, and where "Mersey Paradise" also begins...

"River splashes against the rocks..." HER river splashes against our
rocks. We is human, and made of stone (rock)....SHE is the river
splashing against us, carrying us away in HER flow....

"and I scale the slopes....."

On March 25, when they first announced the strong rumors that John Squire
would be leaving the Roses on radio One, Radio One first played, "SHE's a
River" by Simple Minds (whose lead singer, Jim Kerr is married to Patsy
Kensit), followed by, (SHE's a) "Waterfall" by The Stone Roses and then
the announcement about John squire. Add this to the fact that Ian Brown
was pointing at John Squire during the last UK tour on a few occasions
while singing the lines, "SHE's a waterfall" and "She's my sister...the
messiah is my sister." People wrote to me about it, James Reed and Nigel
both told me about this. The other night in concert Noel Gallagher
dedicated, "Cast No Shadow" to John Squire.

"As he faced the sun he cast no shadow." What would you have to be made
of to cast no shadow? Answer: pure abstract, pure spirit. Wake up
children. "The kids are sleeping as SHE knocks their dreams awake." (From
"Paperback, by Dandelion Fire)

Back to Bruce. I was enthralled by this documentary. One reason I
wanted to check Bruce out was that he is the subject of a ONLS coincidence
involving our old newsgroup missing in action pal, Bailou. When I did the
collage, "alt.music.stone-roses" for the defunct DF web sight, the picture
of Bailou in that collage shows her wearing a t-shirt with different
pictures of Bruce Lee on it. Go back and read in ONLS about the strange
attention Ian Brown lavished upon her from the stage at two of their shows
here in the states JUST because she said, "Who is and who isn't" to him.
Now, recently, I believe in the Vox issue with Ian on the cover, there is
a photo with Ian wearing the same exact t-shirt as Bailou had on in the
collage. Ian is also a huge Bruce Lee fan.

During the documentary, the commercials all seemed to have messages in
them, one of the weirdest moments came when Patsy Kensit showed up for
about one second in an Entertainement Network channel commercial. Later
in the doumentary they showed a close up of the symbol Bruce used for his
Jeet Kune Do...it's a yin yang symbol in red and gold with an arrow on
each side of the symbol. 69......

I told our friend NEGEN the neuronaut about the documentary and he told me
to get the book by Bruce Lee called, "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do." I went
out and bought it that afternoon and was blown away. Before I get to the
mindblowing coincidence which occurred yesterday, I'm going to quote a few
things from , "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do," which will illustrate that
Bruce's way was just like the way I'm trying to tell you about, the Roses
write about and people like Carlos Castaneda have been writing about. The
Spirit is coming through me right now and writing these words, castaneda
would say the same about his writings, and Bruce Lee would say the same
about his work too.

All of the following are quotes from Bruce Lee.

"To express yourself in freedom, you must die to everything of
yesterday....To realize freedom, the mind has to learn to look at life,
which is a vast movement without the bondage of time, for freedom lies
beyond the feel of consciousness. Watch, but don't stop and interpret, "I
am free"--then you're living in a memory of something that has gone. To
understand and live now, everything of yesterday must die."

"When one is not expressing himself, he is not free. Thus, he begins to
struggle and the struggle breeds methodical routine. Soon, he is doing
the methodical routine as response rather than responding to what is."

[Is this happening in your life. Have you become your routine? How far
away is it?]

"The spirit is no doubt the controlling agent of our existence. the
invisible seat controls every movement in whatever external situation
arises. It is thus, to be extremely mobile, never 'stopping' in any place
at any moment. Preserve this state of spiritual freedom and
non-attachment as soon as you assume the fighting stance. Be 'master of
the house."

"It is the ego that stands rigidly against influences from the outside,
and it is this 'ego rigidity' that makes it impossible for us to accept
everything that confronts us."

{"We're not made of stone are we?" Ian Brown}

"The tools, your natural weapons, have a double purpose:
1. To destroy the opponent in front of you--annihilation of things
that stand
in your way of peace, justice and humanity.

2. To destroy your own impulses caused by the instincts of self
preservation.
To destroy anything bothering your mind. Not to hurt anyone,
but to overcome
your own greed, anger and folly. Jeet Kune do is directed
toward oneself.

{"I'm throwing stones at you man, I want you black and blue man, bye bye
badman..."}

"Punches and kicks are tools to kill the ego. The tools represent the
force of intuitive or instinctive directness which, unlike the intellect
or the complicated ego, does not divide itself, blocking its own freedom.
The tools move onward without looking back or to the side."

Read them over. Read them again. Don't ever forget them. You can choose
to serve EITHER, not both....you EGO or your Spirit. Whichever one you
choose will be the one that becomes real in your life. If you don't
believe in Spirit, spirit does not exist. Ego exists either way, it's up
to you to decide whether you want to keep it. Think about that. Wouldn't
you like to be free of your ego?....it's a demanding motherfucker and it
takes most of your energy to uphold it's stature. Kill it!

Coincidence time. Yesterday I posted the challenge to Oasis. It says a
lot about Bruce Lee and how he accepted any challenger who got his
attention, and how he beat them all. If there is any band on the planet
who maight be up for a challenge like this it's Oasis. Let's have it
Noel.

Being in Bruce Lee mode last night, my freind Pat and i rented, "Game of
Death." WHAMMO!!!! The number 69 is very present but it's present in
FUCKING license plates. Whenever I see the number 69 in a license plate
(43 times in one day last week)....I immediately look at the other letters
in the plate to see what they say. Kosso posted something about a
coincidence along these lines I had with him, actually there were two
posts by him regarding coincidences with 69 in plates. Anyway, the main
car in the movie has the plate BO 69 24. I immediately said to myself,
"Beat oasis, 69 6." BO= beat Oasis, 69=69 and 2+4 =6. And this was the
same day I wrote the challenge post and included stuff about Bruce Lee,
and then this plate shows up in the movie. I feel rather confident at
this point.

The next time you see 69 in the movie it also appears in a another license
plate on a motorcycle. These two vehicles are shown a number of times
through the movie.

Later on in the movie, the first car with 69 in the plate is shown again,
only they slightly changed the plate so that it reads

BO
69 24

The car is the same, the letters and numbers are the same, but they
numbers have moved a bit so that the BO is now on top of the 69. That was
done on purpose. Why?? Our minds were completely blown by this. That
license plate doesn't change by accident. Pat and I speculated that Bruce
Lee may have been having the same exact coincidences with "69" in license
plates. I believe he was speaking to me (and you) from the other side.
He was speaking to anyone who may have been seeing the same thing, and he
knew that someone who was would understand why he was fucking with 69 in
the license plates. We had to stop the tape at this point and just take a
few minutes to freak out. I managed to hook my freind Pat into this world
by exposing him to license plates with 69 in them. This was a bit TOO
REAL....but you can go rent this movie and see it for yourself too.

Later on in the movie, Bruce has to fight these guys in a wharehouse and
all of the boxes in the wharehouse have the serial number "696" on them.

June 9, 1996...witten as 6/9/96 in the USA and 9/6/96 in England

September 6 is the date of the gig in Manchester.... 6/9/96 and also
9/6/96

Peace

I know I'll get jumped on for being dogmatic, and that I'm opening a
rather large can of worms by replying to this spliffhead, but surely the
lyric should read "couldn't breathe I call for air" in the third line
above.

Still, Lee, or whoever you are, bless you for being so fucking mad. I
hope you pull it off and stub your roach out in my cynical eye. There's
no way that you will, mind.
