Description: Discussing the band Steely Dan.

9 years since EMG
Steely Fans (just in case anybody is still reading this group), it occurred to me it is already 9 years since the release of "Everything must go". This makes me wonder if there will be another oevre to be be expected in my lifetime, or Don's and Walt's lifetime. Are there any rumors and speculations out there. Anybody ? Anything ?... more »

SD in Sydney
Caught our boys in Sydney, Australia last night. Great show. DF's vocals sounded lick his throat needed a rest. Hope he's OK for the rest of the tour. Also saw them last Saturday. Even better show then. Last night they played exactly the same kick ass set, except Kid Charlemagne, which was the encore on the weekend, was the last song in the main set. For... more »

Danbury Ives 7/25/2011
Band was tight. Venue strange. Volume insufficient in lawn seating area. More a party than a concert in the lawn seating area. Most fans talking instead of listening; disturbing for me; as the musically inclined come to listen. My fault for not paying 5x price for xcellent seats. As for band, my opinion with time alottment, too much jamming &... more »

Similar sounds...
I just came across this band's website: [link] It's a project by former Jamiroquai guitarist Gavin Dodds and drummer Barney Hurley and sounds amazing. Check out the guest musicians and see if you can spot familiar faces: Additional Musicians: Ben Addison, Scott Addison, Mike Casswell, Simon Clarke, Paul Cook,... more »

Everything Must Go (The Movie)
First Hollywood rips off Steely's "Cousin Dupree" with "You Me and Dupree." Now Will Ferrel stars in a movie called "Everything Must Go." [link]. How about a movie based on "Don't Take Me Alive?"
