These lists just tell me I should'nt bother visiting Metalreview.com
It`s my favourite metal review site, they review a lot and the reviews are
always well written. They did give glowing reviews to some of your favourite
albums this year, Asphyx, God Dethroned, Amorphis all got really high
scores. And I only like one of them!
I've heard 6 of these and 3 of those were on my 'disappointments' list. The
other I thought just plain sucked as expected. That leaves 2, neither of
which would make my top 25. I'd like to hear the Anaal Nathrakh as I have a
couple of their cd's. I think you said they were a buch of noise before.
That might have been live though.

Slough Feg wouldn't make your top 25?
Ape Uprising makes my top 5 this year!

probably just a fanboy
Ian had mentioned them a while back so I checked them out. I hated every
second of it.
Well, in fairness if you`ve only heard 6 then there are probably others
there you`d enjoy. It`s why I like these sort of lists, shows me new stuff,
some of which is worthy of investigation, some not. The new Anaal Nathrakh
album is brilliant, it is a fuck of a noise to be sure but a very pleasant
one. It took me a couple of listens to get my head around it. I`ve never
seen them live. Should be seeing them supporting Marduk next month.

There's hope for them after all!

I am getting on with the idea of making a top 10 albums of the year
post.
One caveat, The Kansas Masque album, from 1975 I believe, I've
actually played it enough times to score in the top 10 plays of albums
this year. Great album. Thanks e, for insisting on it to the point I
had to buy.
Tom
Hm, strange. My memory is definitely failing me then, as I somehow had
you pegged as a SF fanboy.

is definitely a SF fanboy
Any time! As I've said repeatedly, the 70's were the greatest decade
in music, and I'm happy to make plenty more recommendations where
those came from :)

grew up in the 80's, so it's not a nostalgia thing
SF are amazing, period.

As it is, I liked Kansas back in the day, but just never bought any
albums. I heard many songs on the radio.
Tom
fire away with another recommend.
