Here are some comments on recent Shonen Knife news.

- Etsuko is now an official member: That's good news. She was fun to
watch in concert last year. By the way, does Etsuko sing well? She
sang along with many songs in concert, but she didn't have a
microphone.

- New live album: Looking forward to it. I really like "Golden Years
of Rock 'n' Roll" and it will be nice to have a live version of it.

- Tribute album: I like the cover art by Tara McPherson. It will be
interested to hear.

- Genki Shock!: This is a super album with lots of good songs. I
especially like "Jeans Blue", "Spider House", "My Magic Glasses", and
"Forest Walk". I like the Japanese version a little more than the new
English version, but that's probably because I heard the Japanese
version first and have been listening to it much longer. I like
"Spider House" and "My Magic Glasses" more in English, but I like
"S-P-A-M", "Forest Walk", and "Rock Society" better in Japanese (even
though I don't understand the lyrics, they seem to flow better in
Japanese).

- 2006 US tour: Will there be one? Don't keep me in suspense.

There had to be a mic somewhere, doesn't there? I mean why sing if
nobody can hear you? I don't know. But, anyway, I think it's a good
move. I wonder if she'll actually do things like write songs?

If you haven't noticed, the shonenknife.net home page got a new design
that is very Etsuko intensified with a new front page picture of the
Shonen Knife three with E in the front. She even has her own blog spot
now. I don't know why but I think of a strawberry when I see her. What
a cutie!

Notice Naoko's "kick my bass" cap. haha

With all of these new CDs coming out (the tribute CD, Fork and Spoon,
the live CD Live in Osaka, and apparently a greatest hits CD
[handpicked songs by the members]), one might actually get the idea
that Shonen Knife are having some kind of big success in their home
country. I hope that is true.

This is from Naoko's blog:

"I always remember people who ever wrote to me. We have a plan to tour
in U.S. this autumn. I’m looking foward to see you guys!"

Does that not almost sound like a sure thing??

Heads up:

The gluefactory.com site have a Shonen Knife store and Genki Shock and
the Shonen Knife T-Shirts are on sale right now! I'm getting the baka
shell T-Shirt..
