I play a Dukoff D6 metal mouthpiece on my alto sax. By loosening up my
jaw and lip and supporting my air, I can get a good 'textured' sound in
the lower octave but as I get into the second octave, I loose the nice
'textured' sound.
Does anybody have any advice on how to maintain the depth of sound into
the second octave? Is there some merit in shaping the air by using one's
tongue?
