I believe this to be true and know Dave has been in regular contact with me, took nearly 20 Grand and delivered nothing. I have reported it to the FBI, local authorities and been in contact with others with even bigger stories to tell.
Dave has been very bad and is no longer to be trusted. Any contact with Dave could be very bad.
I believe 2007 will be a very bad year for the person of Guardala, and I hope the products live on forever.
Happy fighting over who will end up with the rights to his name.

Sorry, new to this group. Thought I was responding to a thread started by Zachary, but started one that made no sense out of context.
I ran accross Zachary on SaxOnTheWeb on a thread 'Guardala Business'. The post was not very specific but since I had been dealing with and was worried about Guardala, I private emailed Zachary. The response was not good. I asked very general qestions and he responded with the exact thing I was worried about. He said vintage saxes and mouthpieces had been promised and not delivered and there where others too. -- Yea, ME TOO!
I hoped against hope that he was a mistake or something, but as delivery dates came and went, Dave stopped calling and it has been 3 weeks now with no word or call. My calls, emails and faxes have gone unanswered. Since then, I have run accross a lot of Guardala issues and have taken the matter to the FBI, local authorities and now online.
People must not get caught in the deception any longer. I don't know why others have not gone public with the Guardala Scams but I know I must. It is wrong and must stop!!!!
I will have a site up with the whole story soon and a blog so others can feel more comfortable sharing their Guardala stories.
You not stupid for believing a legend and Guardala was a legend. I'm a big enough man to say I got caught up and burned. If there was anything online to warn me, I would not be looking at the grim future I must now endure. PLEASE -- If you get caught in a scam, share it online to help prevent others from being burned too.

Shang - Working on it. Just need a few minutes to read thru the FBI file and make a few edits. The story is now writen with dates and details. It will be up Monday AM at www.daveguardala.net - clearly drawing the line between Dave Guardala the person and the Dave Guardala product lines from the past and present. Amazing products - very lame guy.

I viewed the site but I don't find it clear as to what Guardala did. After he disappeared though I had a bunch of customers come to me all saying that they sent him money but never got a mouthpiece. Phil

The relevant info has only just appeared. Have another look !
Interesting and scary story on your site. Really sorry it happened.
Back in 1984, a freshman friend of mine at North Texas got scammed out of $275 by Dave, who claimed, on the phone, he was going to sell him, one of Mike Brecker's old metal Links, the one he used in the 1970s-- he never sent it, then offered to send him one of his newly created DGs, then didnt send THAT either!!!
Sounds like the same scam, but much higher stakes!!! Horrible stuff!
