I wonder, if I joined your forum, if I could write a post about the way
you: 1) took delivery of my tenor and up-front payment for an overhaul,
2) refused to communicate with me via phone or email, 3) two years
later, blamed ME for not paying the return shipping charges, and 4)
then said 'it was over', and I never saw my horn or money. Well, of
course you would delete any such posting. That is why I am doing it
here.
Best of luck with your new line of Frankensaxes, Mr. Goodson. Perhaps
the venture will actually satisfy some of your customers, though from
past experience, it does not appear that customer satisfaction is not
one of your highest priorities.

And now you have the gall to claim that *you* were the one waiting for
two years! Freaking unbelievable.
Nice try.
we made you pay up front because you had a new off brand horn ("Ernie
Northway") that we didn't want to do a bunch of work to and end up
owning.....
you were given every opportunity to pay your return shipping and insurance
costs, and you didn't....
there comes a point when you are beginning to understand you are not going
to see your money for shipping, and the horn is just going to sit there in
the way. Then you begin to incur expenses when your local lawyer contacts my
lawyer. This costs me money.
Unless you can produce a cancelled check showing you paid me, quit whining.
You could have paid me at any point in the transaction (Up until Hurricane
Katrina I got mail every day...) but you didn't. I'm not in the financing
business. I'm also not in the storage business. The choice not to pay was
strictly yours and your alone.
This is the last word I have on this subject. I will make no further
responses.

Keep playing that "you didn't pay" one-note-samba, Steve. The
repetition doesn't make it true. Given your track record, it certainly
is not very believable. OF COURSE I never paid the shippng charges!
You refused to let me know what the charges were, and when they were
due!!! I didn't even know when the horn was actually finished! (...if
it ever was...I often wonder what happened to it....)
And now you complain about lawyer bills accrued due to your own
delinquencies. Even more unbelievable!
I do recognize that this whole debacle is entirely my fault. A hard
lesson learned. I should have checked your Better Business Bureau
status, and done more research before trusting you with my business.
My bad.

You could have shipped Ernie Northway for 2 C notes

Another little thought for our friend Mr. Goodson:
You whine about paying your lawyer; well, it wasn't free for me,
either. It certainly cost me more to hire that lawyer than it would
cost to ship a tenor. It should be evident to anyone reading this that
I would not have gone to the trouble and expense unless it was my only
option. Your side of the story obviously has more holes in it than
that Ernie Northway tenor.
so, all this aside, where is your horn now?
--
If I remember correctly (I need to check my records on the timing), the
last mention of the horn's condition by Goodson was about a year after
he received the horn. He said it was "very close". After that, no
communication from him whatsoever; no mention of shipping charges,
extra labor or additional parts costs. He gave no response to emails,
phone messages, replies to his own posts on various message boards,
letters from the Chamber of Commerce, (both my state's chamber and
Louisiana), emails and phone calls from well known players telling
Steve to make good on the deal, appeals from a NAPBIRT representative.
Through my lawyer, a pickup was FINALLY scheduled with Goodson's
lawyer....unfortunately, Katrina hit a couple days before the meeting.
I gave my lawyer (a local to New Orleans) several months to sort out
his own affairs, and then contacted him again. He has received no
response from Goodson's lawyer.
I live across the country, and any action taken is difficult and
expensive, with no guaranteed return of investment. Of course, Steve
has known this all along. Based on the experiences of others, I have
no idea what I would receive if Goodson actually delivered a horn.
Yeah, it sucks.
