Supply and Demand... Very few people are demanding, so there's no
point in supplying. They were in the vinyl and cassette era, so that
makes for even less CD's in circulation. Maybe Readers Digest (or
similar) do a 60's compilation set ?
Perverse isn't it - I go to Car Boots (massed yard sales..) where old
retro-geezers like me literally can't even give music from that era
away. Now I've seen some of the ebay and Amazon prices, guess what
I'll be picking up (and reselling, obviously) when the Car Boot season
restarts ? Thanks for the 'heads up' !
Try asking WalMart for Thunderclap Newman, that'll confuse 'em...

In my opinion, they had a couple of very good songs. However, expecting
Beatles level of quality is asking a little much.
I do have a Dave Clark 5 cd. I must have got it a long time ago.
The big question is: what has this got to do with saxophones?

I understand. Cause when you say these things, you know it makes me blue...

Because and Can't You See That She's Mine are great. Some of the
ramakes are not, Do Yo Love Me , Over and Over etc.
Dave Clark was a great businessman and was one of the few who owned
his masters.

Abe,
You hit on it there. I heard Dave owns the masters. So why not re-
issue
"digitally re-mastered" CDs? Judging from the prices old albums are
going
for on EBay, there should be enough people willing to pay for a CD.
But it seems
like he's only interested in selling song rights for movies. Doesn't
make
sense to me.

There was a 2 cd set on Hollywood a few years back.
Abbedd
Bob - possibly it's quite fitting to be here, I'd quite forgotten that
the Dave Clark Five was one of the relatively few 60's groups to have
a sax player ( Denis Payton ), who sadly died at the end of 2006,
strangely enough whist working not many miles from here...

The last paragraph of the obit sheds some light on the original
question.

Says he is shying of putting out CDs but doesn't say way. Seems like
some money could be raised for Mike Smith if Dave Clark cares about
him. Anyway, I gave up and put together a fine CD from Limewire.
I've been listening to it Over and Over.

You can get CDs at Amazon.co.uk though some are asking over-inflated prices
for some of the titles. Other ones are there though. It's worth checking
every so often because of the market traders that may offer something.
