I posted a goodbye on SOTW, said that I was requesting my account to
be deleted on or after Dec 1 and that I assumed it meant my posts
would be gone. I wished you well. It was not a flame, but the entire
post was deleted in spite of that.

Even the phrase "this is my last post here" was deleted from another
post. My posts are not gone, though. So none of you know that I'm gone
and unable to reply.

Well, I herewith wish those who know I would like to wish them well
well. (Yes, they will surely know who they are.) Take care. And toot
your horns. ;-)

(God, how utterly ridiculous this all is. Kinda makes me wish the word
saxophone had never crossed my mind.)

Yeah cool of you, Jicaino, to make fun of me on SOTW now that I can no
longer reply (SH is the one who needs the meds, I assure you!) and
poor Hans wonders why I am no longer responding, but hey, he is also
merely a stupid beginner (like you all were in the past but have
forgotten about). Has it ever crossed your minds that another person
might not like what you like? I do not like my modern alto that much.
I do not click with it and I never have. I knew I should not buy it
when I did and I know now that I was right. Shame on me!

Anyway, I was about to give you those 6 IP numbers I have for the guy
but posting them here is not such a good idea and he'll have them
reconfigured in no time anyway. (Apparently, he especially set one up
for me, used to drop by god knows how many times per day, set the
record for my site alright; how much more crazy can you get? Last time
I saw him, he'd just gotten three extra routers.)

I ran tracerts on most of them. He has two or three ISPs and seems to
be able to hack his way into lots of stuff. I don't know how he does
it so I can't prove it and I know how stupid I sound for having
mentioned all this in the first place. But _I_ can handle that.

So, it's official, I guess, Jicaino? Nobody is allowed to start
playing saxophone anymore (unless they're in their teens)?
Hah! That really makes me laugh.

And for those who wonder... yes SH knew I was Simon C and he also knew
about the low warble I had and posted about under the other ID (which
I wanted to be neutral but I'd picked yet another unfortunately stupid
name and you can't delete or modify an ID on SOTW so then I created
Simon, because I was fed up with all the stupid jokes and innuendo).
I'd been avoiding having the alto checked out for that sudden warble
out for way too long, for obvious reasons.

It's now had another problem for quite a while, but I'll figure it out
on my own. No more techs for me. I know from experience that I can do
_anything_ I want to do and I'll master this too.

Sigh. Why am I trying to convince you that the tower of Pisa is at an
angle? I really should know better. You guys are pathetic and you
_want_ to be pathetic. So I'll let you _be_ pathetic. Waarvan akte.

Time for a beer!

PS
Too bright, huh? LOL. That sure does put a smile on my face.

Oops. Now you'll have to remove this thread too huh?

I admire it when people are very very good at what they do, but it
becomes a different story when that greatness is used to cause hurt
and upset, not to mention confusion. But then, wasn't confusion the
fuel of imagination?

Responding to Simon C. about his messages about Stephen Howard.

I am in USA, have never met Stephen Howard, so I can't say personally
about his qualities. But I have read and learned much from him on this
newsgroup and I have never seen him respond in any way to any message
that could not be called gentlemanly.

He has always, so far as I know, answered any inquiry on the newsgroup
with style and sensitivity, always seeking to enlighten and to help the
responder. I cannot see how he ought to be criticized; instead, he
ought to be praised for his participation in the newsgroup.

I suggest that Simon C. (who I don't know) refrain from unwarranted
criticism of Howard, especially since there was no specifics cited to
merit any criticism.

I meant this message to be a new thread, but somehow it didn't happen.

Let's say that I would have tended to agree completely with you and
actually _have_ for quite a few years. Initially, I was delighted to
find out that this person was living "on my doorstep". I won't waste
any more of my - and yours - precious time on this issue. It ain't
worth it and I am sorry I tried to convince you. I know very well how
silly I must sound, believe me. I would have thought the same of me,
so no hard feelings for people such as the above poster and the other
serious poster. Absolutely none. (The jokers? That is a different
story. But they are most certainly not worth anyone's time.)

You may have noticed that he was one of the people who replied to my
question about controlling moisture and I was very pleased that I
finally got some good answers here. If you go to that thread, you will
see that that thread quickly deteriorated as well. (Pads and tampons?
Give me a break! Why, supposedly, aren't women allowed to start on
saxophone when they're over 20, according to quite a few of you? It's
ridiculous!)

The only thing that really interests me in this context - and which is
why I have been on several forums for several years - is saxophone,
though that seems to be incredibly hard to believe for some people -
which can be very frustrating when you're trying to get answers.
(Having said that, tg there ARE people - very particularly in the
States, of course, that wonderful country with its generally
wonderful, friendly and helpful people - who share that same interest
and who will continue to help and support me, away from the forums,
and without moronic jokes.)

And that - my interest in saxophone - is exactly why I just logged in
again. I said something about my two horns yesterday and I felt I
needed to investigate and substantiate that statement. I just did.

Turns out that my new horn (one that most techs apparently would
refuse to work on) weighs about _twice_ what the old horn weighs and
that simply is quite a difference. Yes, the old one is a FRENCH one;
see the pads and tampons joke. Hah hah.

It might not make that much of a difference when it's a man who's
playing these horns, but to me, it makes quite a difference. The old
horn is also much sturdier; it's always felt like a natural extension,
part of me, whereas the new horn does not have that at all and feels
very "separate" and "unfamiliar". I am getting more used to the new
horn, but it is not the right horn for me. It just ain't.

And ten million of you trying to tell me it is won't convince me.

Wouldn't it have been much easier to just discuss it with me, to say
something like "Listen, I don't think this is the horn for you and I
don't think you should spend the money on it, so I am giving it back
to you. Play the other one and if in a year or so, you still want the
French one overhauled, then come back and I'll see what I can do." The
disappointment when I finally finally finally got that horn back was
immense. I can only guess... and I don't like these guessing games. I
am way too down to earth and serious for all this silly game-playing.

No more game-playing for me. I will find my own way, without the silly
bozos on the various forums and elsewhere.

Have a good day.

You're saying the horns too heavy and that is Steve H's fault?

That site is for people who don't have enough work to do all day, and who'd
rather talk about music than play it.
