Remember the movie is an actual truthful depiction of the moon
Ganymede NASA has a secret space program and fleet of flying saucers
since the 50s and this movie is the result of James Camerons group.
Pandora portrays one of Jupiters moons Ganymede. The beings, the
habitat, the setting is all legitimately portrayed the fiction is the
armed forces from earth and their technology. The story is
hypothetical but the rest is real.

"Any lingering suspicions that James Cameron has become the Al Gore of
Hollywood will be firmly extinguished by his new, monstrously-hyped
creation. For a while, it looked like he was giving us a reasonably
sweet-natured blockbuster, suggesting that the natural world has,
like, the power to heal us all, or something. Then Cameron sends in
the helicopter gunships and starts blowing shit up, big time. Way to
undermine your own message."
