Using something like fantasy sports methodology.

Not a lot to argue with there (maybe Marley and STP so high), esp. with
Rush at 14.

Little Feat scores a 78, P-funk only gets a 78 and Sly and the Family
Stone a *67*(?!?!?)on "technical ability", while RATM gets an
82? ...and Metallica an 87?

The list is automatically moot.

Totally fucking worthless...they don't even have a grasp on what
technical ability *is*.

Tom Morello couldn't even fathom where to *start* if forced to learn a
song like "Rock and Roll Doctor", "Flash Light", or "Hot Fun In the
Summertime", in a cover band.

...and Duran Duran warranted a 57? ...those guys were actually
excellent musicians - especially John Taylor. The dude's bass lines
sounded *a lot* like Ged during the sax solo on "Rio".

Black Sabbath gets a 62 for "innovation".
They only fucking INVENTED A GENRE!!!

I'm sure there's a lot of other fucked up shit on that list, but its
ignorance only pissed me off, and I quickly clicked out of it.

There is one good thing about the list...

Styx wasn't included on it.

Not a lot? Oh no you din't!

- U2 is more "consistent" than AC/DC or Iron Maiden, even when those
two acts have taken the art of cranking out the same album over and
over again to before-unknown heights. Isn't that what consistency is
about? ;-)
- Soundgarden ranks way above Black Sabbath in innovation, with the
innovative strategy of ripping off Black Sabbath. But hey, it isn't
like Black Sabbath are the founding fathers of heavy metal or somethin
like that, right? right? :-D
- Metallica has a 46/50 consistency index. mmm-kay...
- Metallica ranks over Tool, Soundgarden, and Iron Maiden in technical
ability. Okay!
- Iron Maiden ranks under Bon Jovi in technical ability. (Ok, so
Richie Sambora did know a couple of things about guitar, but
seriously...)
- Iron Maiden ranks (barely) under the Rolling fucking Stones in
technical ability...
- Iron Maiden ranks under the Red Hot Chili Peppers for technical
ability. But just barely, there isn't a chasm of ability like with...
- Iron Maiden ranks (way behind!) under U FUCKING 2 in technical
ability.

And those are the easy ones. One might just think that the guys making
the list have never listened to more than 1 or 2 minutes of Iron
Maiden in their lives, but then there's this, the One Unforgivable Sin
which marks them as a bunch of FAILers writing from a vortex of Suck:
- Black Eyed Peas has a value larger than zero in technical ability.

Instead of the point-by-point destruction that Javier and Jim completed,
I'll just say:

The Who - 23rd overall? Fuck off judges; you suck.

Hey guys, lighten up already. It's an almost random list of ROCK bands
which has The Carpenters on it. That's all Prof needs to agree with it.

To be honest, I thought the top 20 was pretty good anyway. Yes The Who
were too low (and the fact that Who's Next is NOT on the top 100 albums
list is criminal) and there were other imperfections, but I still think
the top 20 was about right.

I kinda agree but don't know what the Wailers, EWF and Prince are doing
in a Rock list, yes they made great music but not rock. Well, Prince
maybe, a little, sometimes. And the Beegees should have their balls
broken for the crap music they made. Oh wait...

Any list w/out Horslips and Starz isn't really a list.
