For real. I guess he is a painter and he had an opening at Celebrities in
Wailea. His portraits are for shit, but his impressionist paintings are
actually pretty interesting. I was surprised that only about 100 people
showed up, but I got to talk with him for a few minutes and he is much more
intelligent than I would have thought. A couple of nights later I saw him
at the Maui Film Festival and he gave me 'the nod'. My girlfriend commented
that he is one face lift away from becoming Cher.

I wouldn't walk a city block to speak with most celebrities (including
politicians), but I'd gladly sit and have a drink w/ Stanley.

Paul & Gene may be assholes from what I've heard/read/divined, but they're
not stupid. Gene sounds extremely intelligent, for instance, but he's
cloaked in this air of arrogant, egotistical assaholism.

Eggzactly. That's why I wouldn't want to talk with him, he effing knows
everything. Diff between Gene and Neil is that Peart will just walk
away when he's bored with you, but $immons doesn't get bored of talking
about himself...

His portraits are worse than what I used to see in high school art class.
However, take a look at Ronnie Wood's stuff. He is a very talented artist.

It is funny when stars think they can expand to other mediums. How
many movie stars also thought they can sing or paint or play baseball.
Worst is tv stars that try to sing ala David Soul from Starskey and
Hutch.

Yeah, I saw a couple of Wood's originals and a ton of prints at the same
gallery. The thing that killed me, however, was the Paint-by-Numbers 'art'
of one Grace Slick (who, btw, looks too old to be a grandmother now)

I thought the winner would be William Shatner. (But didn't Nimoy do
something even worse still?)

In article <EaSdnYeIwNJpzwXZ...@comcast.com>,

It's all those years of supporting the weight of the troweled-on makeup
night after night after night, doncha know - The infrastructure got too
stressed to cope, and his whole face headed south between trips to the
plastic surgeon.

On a (Kiss)-related note, is it just me, or does Ace have a "crooked"
face? Seems to me that every image I see of him (but especially in the
makeup) it looks like one eye is significantly higher than the other,
giving the impression that his whole face has been sort of "twisted"
around his nose by about 5-10 degrees clockwise. I think it's most
noticable on the cover portrait from his solo album. I'd write it off to
being a painting (of somewhat dubious quality) but I see the same thing
(though to a somewhat lesser degree) in all "straight on" photos of him
I've encountered.

Paul has had at least two hip-replacement surgeries.

He got his jaw broken in a bar fight before KISS started.

Yeah, but . . . did his of Shat's records get any serious radio
airplay, and "serious," I mean anything other than a DJ saying, "OMFG,
you listener ain't gonna believe this crap!"

I'm sure there's some seriously horrendous crap out there by TV and
movie stars, but I can't currently remember one that got seriously play
on the radio that was worse than Don Johnson's technologically
"enhanced" hit.

But yeah, Lenny and Bill's recorded stuff is pretty freakin' bad.

Nimoy actually did some "fun" stuff. Not terribly *TALENTED*, musically
speaking, but at least listenable. Shatner, on the other hand... Well,
comparing his "singing" to fingernails on a chalkboard would be an
insult to both the fingernails AND the chalkboard.

At least he can carry a tune. With, like, vibrato and all that
