Usually, on business trips I bitch and moan about how hopelessly
boring they are. This one is freaking great!!! Lansdowne Resort,
VA. First class...ALL...THE...WAY. This place is awesome. The staff
is most excellent. They treat you like kings. Eating like a pig.
The food is the best I've had at a hotel. Even better, have been
drinking, for three straight nights, DFH 60 min IPA on tap, Chimay
Red, and a sparse Flying Dog Pale and Wheat here and there. Add in
some righteous red wine and life is good. Makes the endless daytime
management droning all well worth the while. Bad news is leaving
tomorrow. But, Old Dominion has a restaurant at Dulles. Oak Barrel
Stout. Nuff said. With two hours to kill after the shuttle dumps me
that should be good. Good news...they already booked for next year.

The Old Dominion Brewpub itself is only about 3 miles north of Dulles,
didn't know they have a restaurant in Dulles now too, though. Oak Barrel
Stout is my very favorite, you lucky, lucky bastard.

I wish I had access to the Old Dominion brews.

DFH's brews are old friends to me.

I'm hoping to track down DFH's collaboration with Sierra Nevada:
"Life and Limb." The two great brewers have also collaborated on a
small beer, but I'm after the barleywine-strength L&L.

I picked up a big bottle of SN Reserve. At nearly 10 bucks it better
be good.

Are you talking about Life & Limb? Ten bucks sounds about right for
that.

How'd you like it? There are actually three different beers in that
series. They're all good, but $10.00 is a bit steep for one bottle.
Especially when you can get a 6-pack of Celebration Ale for the same
price and have change.
