This one is a mixed review of Photo-Finish....not totally negative, but
not so positive. The writer scores it 3 stars on a scale of 5, meaning a
lukewarm "Give it a spin"

Personally I love the album, so I didn't love the review so much. (To
this day, I can't play "Overnight Bag" just once). I have a later
review of 'Top Priority' written by the same writer that says "In those
concerts, numbers from the then-current "Photo-Finish" album, along with
a selection of Gallagher standards, came across with so much more
vitality than they ever had on vinyl. It was a joy to watch one of the
truly great "guitar heroes" in action, and to observe that he is still
one of the most talented axemen in the business." SO...I guess I'll
allow that the songs on Photo_finish, which became standards of Rory's
later shows, came across better live and maybe an initial listen by the
writer didn't catch his ear.

ALBUMS
Under exposed by Steve Gett from the 10/7/78 issue of Record Mirror.

Time for me to pack my overnight bag and head out for a 3 day blues
festival....hard work, but someone has to do it! :)

stay well and, as always, RoryON!!

I first discovered and got into Rory's music during the Photo-Finish &
Top Priority period. Excellent albums however they certainly didn't
capture the raw vitality and adrenaline-drenched excitement of a
Rory concert at that time. But what could, short of attending one
of Rory's shows in person?
