Voices.
CEV is about putting the spotlight on women in music. Whether that
means
they are playing in an all women band, acting as lead vocalist in a
mixed
gender band, a solo performer or even if it is a fully instrumental
performance (new age/ambient) by the artist it will still be considered
fair
game for what CEV will cover as the site grows and matures.
The site will be aimed at several levels of readers which includes the
artists themselves looking to keep up with what is going on with their
peers, fans of the genre wanting to stay informed as to what their
favorite
acts are up to as far as CD releases and shows and of course those who
work
within the industry who want to find links to resources to help them
promote
the artists that they are working with. Lofty goals to be sure but with
some
input from the artists and the fans along with those who work the
promotional end of the business I'm sure that CEV will become a very
workable resource for all concerned.
You might be asking how in the world we will accomplish all of the
goals
listed above. If you have been by the site you will see some of those
ways
already forming up. CEV is going to feature interviews with the artists
who
are out there pouring themselves into making their music a success for
one.
We are going to feature reviews of some of the CD's that we receive
from the
labels and the performers in an attempt to highlight the best of what
we are
seeing coming through our mailbox. We are going to have a news page to
keep
you informed of what's going on around the industry as it pertains to
women
performers. We will offer a good listing of links including artist's
websites, resources, podcasts/streaming websites and label websites
that
might be of interest to someone trying to get their foot in the door or
figure out who to contact to gather some information to accomplish
their
goals. We will also feature a page that attempts to keep up with the
new
releases that come out each week and let you the reader know where to
find
them.
Of course this is only the beginning and I hope to offer even more
materials
as time goes on but you've got to start somewhere and this is my
beginning.
I hope that you find the site to be useful and I encourage you to
contact me
via e-mail with information, new releases, press releases or any other
tidbit that might be of use to those who frequent the website.
I am also looking for those who like to write or who have written for
other
review sites and might find it enjoyable to write music reviews for the
genres that we cover here on CEV. I am of the opinion that many voices
and
many points of view are preferable to one point of view when it comes
to the
wide range of music that I am attempting to cover with this website.

Helping to promote music that you love gives you a great feeling and I
want
to help you share that great feeling with others via the reviews page.
If you are an artist please check the artist's website page and be sure
your
listing is on there. If you have a My space or CD baby site for your
music
or both please send me the links so that I can add them to the web
page. I
am trying to make the page as helpful and complete as possible for
those
looking for information on their favorite artists. Don't be shy send
them
along and I'll get them up on the site.
Well there you have it. That's what the site is all about and I invite
you
