I recently moved (again) and I went to my nearest Best Buy here, to find
that they have some pretty interesting stuff in their boxset section,
namely imported versions of Queen Live in the Ukraine and Cosmos Rocks on
vinyl, IIRC. Anyway, I got an e-mail from Queenonline stating that Absolute
Greatest is a Best Buy exclusive in the U.S., however, following the link
provided, it appears that Best Buy is only going to have the single disc
version! What a bunch of crap. It does say that the standard version is a
Best Buy exclusive for a limited time. I don't know what that means, that
Best Buy gets the standard, while everyone else gets the deluxe? That's
hardly an exclusive.

Anyone know for sure what the deal is? I want the 2 disc version with the
commentaries, at least.

Somehow Best Buy and the fifteenth incarnation of a Queen greatest hits,
does not compute.

Be that as it may, a lot of bands go the "exclusive" route these days, be
it AC/DC or Kiss at Wal-Mart, or Guns 'N' Roses at Best Buy; there's even
been a few artist who did exclusives at Starbucks, IIRC. At any rate, Queen
has a track record with Best Buy, their "Return of the Champions" Live
album had an exclusive 3rd DVD disc at Best Buy, and their may have been
others that I don't know of.

OK, just got back from my Best Buy, they had the single disc "Absolute
Greatest" and that's it. However, they did have the collector's box of
"Comos Rocks" that had the vinyl and the bonus DVD for around $120, and the
regular Best Buy exclusive version of Cosmos Rocks comes with a highlights
disc of Super Live in Japanas a bonus, so that's another Best Buy
Exclusive.

Still, no sign of the 2 disc version of AG.

Which goes to prove that the artists are doing it for the money, not for
the fans.

I don't know if this helps you, but I've just discovered that the
commentary versions are available as individual downloads. Of course, it
works out cheaper to pay 7.99 and download the lot:

I genuinely have no idea whether this is available outside the UK.

I recently obtained the commentary disc from another source, but thanks for
the information, all the same.
