Nick Nolte wanted 2 sing the songs, Prince wasn't cool with it because
apparently nick sounded horrible, so he pulled the songs at the last minute.

The story I read in an interview from James L. Brooks, who produced the
flick, was that the test screening audiences responded so poorly to the
singing in the film that they were cut out, hence no need for the
soundtrack.

The way Nick talks is irritating i wouldnt want to imagine what his singing
sounds like
