If Disc 2 is dedicated to Mayte, then what's up with Joint 2 Joint and the whole "Oh, great, now you think you're my soulmate bit?" I'm sure he was probably talking to all the women who came before her, but when I was listening to it, I had to make sure that I was still on Disc 2 'cause I thought there's no way he'd have this on his Mayte Disc. I thought that he should have switched the position of Joint 2 Joint and La, la, la means I love you, but as always I'm sure there's method to his madness.

You know... That's part of the game that unfortunately lays between man-woman relationship.... The "macho style"... Men have to fake (?) some despise sometimes, just to make the girl love them more. I found it sad and quite stupid. But unfortunately, it works... The kinder I get with a girl, the weaker her love become. and if I take my distance, she'll do anything to make me love her... That's one of the thing that makes me mad sometimes. But, anyway, about Joint 2 Joint, I always felt that if it was dedicated to Mayte, it was some kind of "macho-syled" joke. Don't you think ? I don't see Prince as a collaborator. That would require giving up significant control.
Although frankly, I don't picture Jackson collaborating these days either. Has he worked with anyone as an equal since the days of Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger?

At the time, I perceived the competing three as Prince, Michael Jackson, and Bruce Springsteen. All had previous significant success in some part of the market. All had HUGE success in 1984 or so. Rick James didn't really enter the megastar contest.

Yes. Kennth "Babyface" Edmonds. There is a song that's being played on the radio here called "Heart on the Line" or something like that. It sounds just like Babyface from start to finish. It's an import single.

Not me.. do you know how many people are married for a year and then divorce??? hell., some people get divorces in a matter of months.. Robin Givens was only married for 24 hours to some dude. LOL
You should all listen to Blood On the Dance Floor by Michael jackson because there's a song called Superfly Sister that sounds like they collaborated. There is even one part of the song that you can actually hear someone who sounds just like Prince about 3/4 of the way through. If this song isn't by prince (and the liner notes do not emntion him) then Micheal was ripping off his sound.
but wasn't he excommunicated (kicked out) for doing the video Thriller? I believe that they did not approve of him using zombies or something. I seriously don't think he follows that religion anymore. Just think about the whole surgery things (no blood transfusions allowed) and his baby out of wedlock, and then marring the mom. jOY - her two cents since she is up and doesn't know why

Right. Michael does not practice the religion (neither does Janet. She hasn't practiced since she's been on her own). The Thriller video was the main cause. That's also why he has that little warning at the beginning of the Thriller video. LDC
(1) The Jehovah's Witnesses *did* object to Thriller (which is why MJ added the disclaimer), but Michael left several years after that video's release.
(2) I think Michael also went door-to-door as an adult, using various disguises.
