It is with great sadness that I have to inform you about the bitter, yet
long expected, demise of AMP.
After a long and humiliating strugglem this place is abandoned by this
regular inhabitants and the place is fallen into the hands of spammers
and other vermin who leave their digital tumbleweed rolling through
AMP's deserted streets.
AMP was a place never free of controversy, and despite the hard words
spoken between people here, I can honestly says that some of the folks
here, truly hated each other. But there was also love and friendship,
and every now and then there were even some posts who were on topic and
not completely bashing Prince, the man who, unknowingly gave his name to
this group, and did everything there was in his powers to turn everyone
away from him and subsequently this place. We can now conclude that he
has succeeded in his task.
I would like you all to rise and share a moment with me in prayer:
Dearly beloved,
We are gathered here to say goodbye to AMP.
A magical place AMP, it could stay forever,
and we had a mighty good time,
But I'm here to tell you,
It didn't last. AMP is gone.
A place where we shared good times and bad,
Flamewars and fun. Day and night.
So when you put on a Prince record,
you know the ones that used to make you feel alright,
Instead of just feeling the vibe,
feel a bit of the emptiness that AMP has left behind.
Cause from now on, things have changed in the digital world
from now one AMP is gone.
On behalf of it's (former) regular inhabitants I'd like to thank you for
you attention and contributions. And I would like to take the
opportunity to thank those who have been here throughout the years and
spread joy, laughter or pure evil and let us commemorate the one thing
that united us all here, the once, genius music that was Prince.
I had a great time.
There are now 94.906 topics (according to google groups). So we ended a
few short of the 100K mark. Maybe, someday, someone will light the spark
to re-ignite this here group and we can continue where we left off.
I like to thank those who contributed throughout the years, the names of
posts gone by:
Rudedog (the mayor), Ernest, Rhastus, rdhull (TheFreak) Bart van
Hemelen, Richard Dower, Cat Vutt, Gavin Smith, The Ur-Vile, Lorne, GMAN,

A special thanks goes to Lou, who singlehandedly drove the final nail
into the coffin.

Rhastus-who's old signature use to say I want to see the Time play the
