Just want to say thanks to rho...@mail.utexas.edu for his critique of
the Hi Fi Killers' "Loaded." It made me go out and buy it. I really
got loaded, you could say. :) Great album. I love the
impressionist painters; it strikes me that with "Loaded," the Killers
are using painting with sound in the same way an impressionist painter
would work with color. I'm very happy you recommended
it--*impressive.* :)

Second wave of thanks goes to whoever the person was who recommended
"Rule of the Bone" by Russell Banks. The PJ references were an added
bit of fun, and the book is a jewel. It's been a long time since
hated to see a character go/a book end, and this book had me dreading
that last page. "Please don't go out on me, don't go out on me
now..." :)) Thanks very much, whoever you are, for posting the
suggestion on the book. It's an indictment of the current state of
the American family/our modern ways in much the same way that a lot of
Ed's work is. (I couldn't help but feel that Ed was very much fuel
and inspiration for "Bone," down to his small stature.) I can see
I'm going to have a new favorite in authors, and can't wait to get
going on "Affliction." Thanks again.
