When was the first time you saw a PMG concert?

How many PMG concerts have you attended?

That's two questions.

Good Question(s): The first time I saw him was at the Beacon Theater in NYC
in 1989. I've only been to three PMG concerts.

The first time I saw PMG was at the University of
Kentucky Art Center in 1991(?). Not sure what year
but the tour was We Live Here. I've seen PMG twice since
at The Palace in Louisville, KY. If you ever get a chance to
see anyone of note at this venue, GO! It is one of the most
amazing restored old theatres in the country. Pat has gushed
about how cool it is both times he's played there. Check this link
to see what it looks like:

I think it was 85, at University of Connecticut. This was after seeing him
do a solo show including a Q&A session in the basement of a record store in
Wethersfield, CT, sometime in 84. This was the first time I ever saw anyone
play a guitar sythn. I think he had a Roland GP-3. I can't describe how
amazing this was.

Since then I've seen the group a few times, and the trio a few times,
including an unbelievable show at the Paradise in Boston in 1990, with Roy
Haynes and Dave Holland (Question & Answer tour). Question & Answer being
one my all time favorite cds.

Caught the last tour in Boston as well, with the new lineup, and it was
probably the best Group show I've seen. They just keep getting better. Pat &
Richard Bona on bass doing Broadway Blues. Killer.

Saw the trio 99/00 trio in NY, then again at the Sommerville theatre, just
down the street from Pat's old apt. This show totally blew me away.

Can't get enough.

Hi,

my first show was a concert in Mannheim/Germany in 1979 (4 Dollars per
ticket), just after the release of the "American Garage" album. Since then I
went to a P.M. show about every two years - that makes about 12 concerts.
The last one was the "Speaking of Now" concert in Frankfurt/Germany (42
Dollars per Ticket...).

Greetings,

Jochen

I wonder if that store is still there. Integrity In Music, I think it was
called. By far the best place to get jazz/fusion music in the Hartford area
during that time. The Elements show must have been cool. I wonder what those
guys are up to these days. I always thought it would be great to see Pat
team up with them for a reunion album someday...

First I believe was at Memorial Hall in Champaign Illinois in 80/81,
followed by Krannert Hall same place two years later, then followed by a
show that I won tickets for on the radio in Peoria Illinois (they played
Peoria wonderfully btw ^_^) and lastly at Ravinia near Chicago in 84 or 85.
Life took me astray but I am glad to say that I am back in the swing of
enjoying their music with my last show in Reading PA two days ago, Nov 2.
Getting to hang out with Steve Rodby after the show for a couple of hours
was great fun as well.

1989/90 and every tour since including 'Secret Story ' which was Pat's large
group solo project and most of the Group was there, iirc.

I'm going to see PMG next week. What are the songs in the current set (approx).

I figure a bunch of "Speakiing of Now'..... but what 'oldies but goodies'?:)
