I'll tell you why it reminds you of int. w/ the vamp- the whole thing is
fucking gothic! Trent's gotta fix that.

Charlie, Danny, and Chris. I chuckled heartily when I saw them. :)

As for my opinions of the whole thing..I dunno...I kinda liked it.

Oh my god, you didn't notice that those three guys with the violins
were:

Danny Lohner
Chris Vrenna
Charlie Clouser

I noticed Chris right away. I guess that would be the first
choreographed video to feature the whole band. Trent probably reminds
you of Gary Oldman 'cause the setting looks like that Dracula movie. I'm
really starting to gag in reaction to that video. How can someone who
did that great "Closer" video come up with such a pretentious concept?
Trent holding up a cane with the wind in his hair going "You are the
perfect druuuug!" It reminded me of "Animal" by Prick, that whole props
and animal stuff.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought they were the rest of the band (Chris,
Charlie, Danny)

The whole video is a bit too closer-esque for my tastes..

Yeah.. in the begining I kept thinking of the Addam's Family, then slowly
began thinking of Ms. Rice

Simple solution: don't read my posts *shrug* it's no loss to me.

What the fuck is all of this 'industrial' bullshit? I have never once
claimed to be some sort of industrial god or anything, so cut it out.
Hell, I couldn't be anything of the sort.. I'm listening to Stereolab for
goodness sake..

i know.

exactly. the staged stuff used to at least give the illusion that he meant and
felt it. this is just overblown NOLA pretention, in my opinion.

as for the dracula set...did you all notice another anne rice/vampiric
connection...the piano? his pose is pretty fucking close to Lestat's in
'Interview' when the little girl comes into the room, and he's sitting, pecking
at the piano...leaning on it...head to one side...

i actually *laughed* at that part. it was so bad. but hey, my opinions aren't
valid. since i know nothing of goth, right?

hm.
I don't agree actually.
I tend to like the video *more* than the song.
And to the other posts that call the video gothic... I think there's a
small army of goths who would quite possibly try to injury you in some
way for associating that style with such a very obviously poppy song
(except for some of the moodiness there at the end).

The only thing that perturbed me: I know they removed some of the
drum part. Very irritating. But then again, I get irritated at the
short version of Closer on the radio. One needs that buildup.

I actually saw the video for the first time entirely by accident. My
bf and I were in a hotel room (and the first thing i do in any hotel
room is turn on MTV - very sad - because we have NEVER had cable here
in my parents house) and BOOM there was the video.

My boyfriend was very understanding and sat quietly, smirking at me,
while I watched the video, enraptured.

Nice to see the ninboyz dressed up, incidentally. I knew they'd clean
up quite well. <g>

In any case.
Mr. Reznor seemed to remind me of some of the slovakian Counts more
than a vampire.

Ambience more remniscent of the black and white version of Hamlet than
it is of the sisters of mercy.

Raeven
My bf's reaction to mr. reznor's facial hair: "Wow. Nice stache. Is
that a porn stache...? Wonder if he's got a second career lined up-
hey! stop hitting me! hey!!"

yeah, now that you mention it. either way i didn't like that piano
thing. i didn't like it too much in "closer" either but overall that
video was awesome. i mean, "closer", that is.
