hm.
I don't agree actually.
I tend to like the video *more* than the song.
And to the other posts that call the video gothic... I think there's a
small army of goths who would quite possibly try to injury you in some
way for associating that style with such a very obviously poppy song
(except for some of the moodiness there at the end).
The only thing that perturbed me: I know they removed some of the
drum part. Very irritating. But then again, I get irritated at the
short version of Closer on the radio. One needs that buildup.
I actually saw the video for the first time entirely by accident. My
bf and I were in a hotel room (and the first thing i do in any hotel
room is turn on MTV - very sad - because we have NEVER had cable here
in my parents house) and BOOM there was the video.
My boyfriend was very understanding and sat quietly, smirking at me,
while I watched the video, enraptured.
Nice to see the ninboyz dressed up, incidentally. I knew they'd clean
up quite well. <g>
In any case.
Mr. Reznor seemed to remind me of some of the slovakian Counts more
than a vampire.
Ambience more remniscent of the black and white version of Hamlet than
it is of the sisters of mercy.

My bf's reaction to mr. reznor's facial hair: "Wow. Nice stache. Is
that a porn stache...? Wonder if he's got a second career lined up-
hey! stop hitting me! hey!!"
