Before there was Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor was working as a studio
programmer/keyboardist at Right Track Studios in Cleveland Ohio. One
day in 1984 a virtually unknown synth-pop group called The Exotic
Birds came in for a studio session. Working with Reznor, they crafted
the very first movement in a dark orchestral masterpiece that would
evolve into the juggernaut of NIN.

This auction is for my single copy of that unbelievably hard-to-find
release - the "No Communication/I'll Never Say Goodbye" 45rpm single.
This is the only copy of this single known to still exist in private
hands, as it survived for years in the CBC Radio vault before being
sold off to make space for newer recordings. It is, without a doubt,
the sine qua non of any serious NIN/Trent Reznor collection. The
record has some light pops and hisses, but plays great all the way
through. Will ship at cost via insured lettermail anywhere in North
America.
