people held up their lighters like it was
an Aerosmith show or somthing. If someone
does this at a NIN show youre at just spit
at them to stop
the downward spiral (same) Did anyone notice that Trent never said a
lyric of this tune. They did a cool
instrumental instead
wish (same) Seemed to go on for ever at Mondays show
suck (same) Me and the four cool guys I met at Sundays
show were yelling during this "F(*K it up
Pigface, F^&k it up" People asked me afte
r the show who the hell pigface was..
Boneheads.. I yelled suck after the
song was over
physical (the only time) The only change in both nights. Physical
was the better choice though. I'm sick
of hearing the only time over and over

and played with the crowd, tempting them t

ds good after all this time
head like a hole (same) Did anyone notice that the pit was cool
when nin was playing songs never heard on

The hits brought out the Jocks who
thought that dancing is anagram for

encore Monday night someone said that they heard
on a radio station that NIN did 6 songs in
their encore. Once again Radio makes
people look like idiots
closer Best scene of the night. Instead of danci
ng, me and a few of my new friends decided
to sit indian style in the middle of the
pit and play patty cake. I did this Monda
y night as well, but I was the only one..
God I hate closer, I wish the posers would
stop singing along and shut up

g. This is to slow to go out on.
Random thoughts on both shows.
First of all, there was too many sexist, homophobic, jock idiots who thought th
is was a Megadeath show or somthing. They kept on holding up their lighters, a
nd doing that devil warshiping sign with their fingers. Another half of the
crowd was teennyboppers who wanted to lose their virginity to Trent. I heard
one 14 year old smoking yelling that she would let trent cum inside of her and
in her mouth. The youth of America. I also liked the kids wearing stupid band
shirts (STP, candlebox, Aerosmith, and Tesla). Last night one of the stupidest
sexist things I saw ever happened. Some girl was surfing wearing just a green
bra, some guy while she was up in the air, ripped it off. Lucky that
my buddy bill let her use his shirt, and they say that shiverly is dead. Jenny
please give bill his shirt back. As for me, I danced my ass of both nights,
the first night my feet got blisters that popped and hurt like hell Monday morn
ing. But by the time NIN was on Monday night, I did not care about the pain an
d danced the night away. I was king of the pit. I only danced for NIN thats
why I lasted the whole set. I was doing a circle pit type dance, but I was not
tackling anyone. Everyone else around me was copying my moves. Both shows wer
e great, but Sundays was much better because of the natural smooth flow. Good
weekend for me.

I don't think it was "AWP"--rather, it sounds more like selections off of LOW,
perhaps. Bowie was played quite a lot before the show between the acts...

I found this to be pretty weak live--I dunno... it just works better as a
studio piece... Perhaps the soundmen had to get the levels right again, and
for a song such as this, the levels of all the elements in the song need to be
pretty exact... I know there's a soundcheck etc., so perhaps overall, this
song doesn't translate too well live...

Pretty damned rockin... THis was before just pure skronk became

I was slightly disappointed by this--again, an intense song, but also because
of its little subtleties etc., which is difficult sometimes to show in the
rushed nature of a live show... if you know what I mean...

I thought "HiS" was pretty on the night I saw them (being Monday night). At
the end of the song, it seemed Trent was slightly pleased with his equiptment
for not fucking up terribly much... Methinks it was Clouser who decided to
get the wreckage into full swing.
The movie--annoyed by the people throwing hats and the screen and trying to
get in front of it. IMHo, they missed the point of it completely, but then
again I may be an anal elitist fuck-off who may have missed the point of a
live show... hrm... one can argue both, but I'm going to stick with the
former for now...
From here on, IMHO, the show kinda went limp. Sure, it got loud, but it was
so loud that, well, it was mud.

"Dii" was a pretty gud high point amongst what I thought was kinda boring and
dreck-y... The "I used to be so big and strong" part was intense for me, but
that's probably because it's a neat song to begin with...

Not that I am a pit maven by any means, but it did seem the crowd was rather
dead through most of the show--certainly the people around me in the stands
were itching to break loose... or perhaps everyone on the floor was trying to
survive... I can definitely understand that...

The encore for me was kinda boring and a little pointless. I won't comment
anything about "Closer," cause it's all pretty much been said before by
everyone (being both sides of the argument)... "I Do Not Want THis"... hrm,
I dunno... I didn't really enjoy it--but I thought it was a pretty weak song
to begin with, so I wasn't terribly excited to see it live...

It was interesting, but definitely left it at a low, in a sense. I liked the
music which kicked in after the show ended (well, it didn't "kick in"), but I
dunno. Many people seemed kinda oblivious to the "drama" presented both
before the show and after. To me, there definitely is a sense of theatre to
the show, but many people opt instead to see it as a bunch of songs... I
dunno... I can wax on this further, but have to run...
It seemed to me that on Monday night, Mr. Reznor was a little annoyed with our
crowd--I dunno... I did enjoy the little quirks he injected into the show,
such as playing a dinky keyboard sound during the ending hell of "HiS."
Last May, ending w/ "HiS" was insane and incredible, IMHO. I dunno... it
just seemed NIN blew their wad a little too early...
I was also kinda depressed neither "Burn" nor "Ruiner" was played... but
seeing "MotP" and "HiS" again live--shit, those are just very nice. The movie
was pretty cool as wel, but again, I dunno... maybe it was my odd feeling
about being in an Arena again... I just don't feel as close to the show as I
should... Still, though, I have my headphones and my copy of TDS...
Hrm, I have more to say, but oh well...

It was the some old show except for a few things. I don't know if he's been
doing this for awhile or not, but the zenmaster from JRC came out and
played guitar for HLAH at both shows. Plus, when they came back out for
the encore on Sunday, Trent apologized to the crowd for having to see
them at such a large venue, but thanks for making it fun for them. He
then sarcasticly introduced closer as "here's a song with the f-word in it" I
thought that was a perfectly appropriate comment considering the crowd.
Monday's show was alot better. Early on in the show Robin jumped into
the crowd. (there was probably 10-15 feet between the stage and the pit)
When he finally got back onstage he just collapsed for awhile. He also had
on a bizarre bondage-like outfit on that included a white thong with a
3 foot long pouch. He threw this into the crowd when he got back onstage.
Later on, when Trent tackled him and pulled him down, Robin had his face
in Trent's ass and he seemed to take a few licks. (I'd swear Trent tackles
Danny and Robin at the same choreographed times during most shows) I thought
their encore was incredible, especially 'I do not want this.' I really think
Trent put alot into his performance of that song.
By the way, PWEI totally kicked ass both nights.

My guess would be an electrical problem, too. I was up in the third or
fourth row, Robin was directly in front of me- and I'm fairly tall, so I had a
lovely view the whole time. Anyway, there were two or three roadie guys with
teeny flashlights playing with the wires up front for quite a while.
A few more comments, it was my first NIN show, hell, my first concert period.
I had gotten used to the whole bodysurfing thing during PWEI, and I have a cute
little cut on my eye from someone's Doc Marten.. I expected a little violence,
but I didn't see any actual pit, or moshing- there wasn't room where I was.
I could have strangled some of the jocks and trendies who only knew 'closer'
and maybe 'head like a hole'.. But I was lucky enough to be in a fairly cool
section, four or five other people who weren't psycho, none of them in all
black, but we can't have everything.
Did anyone else think the security was pretty cool? I expected 6 or 7 hairy
guys named Bubba with police batons, but there were some really nice guys.
I asked 'em if they'd drag out the stupid bodysurfers if we passed them up,
but no go. The funniest part of the show, aside from maybe Robin biting Trent
was when one of the guards, with his huge ear protection things on leaned
against the stage, completely oblivious to the fact that Robin was *right*
behind him- until Robin kinda tickled him. The guy jumped at least two feet
away and laughed.
Anyway, thanks to whoever the guy in front of me with the flannel shirt and
hankerchief on his head was.. I would have lost a 70$ pair of glasses if not
for him. If I find any cool pictures in the camera I found on the floor after
the first set, I'll scan 'em..

the show? i was at the Jan 15th one, and i know exactly where he's
coming from. by the way, you're talking about judging people harshly,
weren't you kinda ANAL about that whole "shiverly" thing? everyone who's
gonna rip on keith for being harsh about the crowd, shut the fuck up.
they blew. and the comment about the STP, candlebox, etc. shirts? it's
a Q/Cure101 thing. you gotta listen to chicago to understand. for all
you crossover industrial/punk listeners, they're starting to play face to
face and calling it new music. by the next time i get home, they should
be the next green day, and THAT'S WHAT PISSES CHICAGOANS OFF (except
those of course who are truly alternative and do listen to Q101. they
know what's up, heh heh). so unless you live there, don't flame anyone
about the chcago shows. the riv was good. the uic was ok. the
rosemont-well, you know. if you're gonna say shit and you really don't
know what i'm talking about, then (here, i'll misspell it so LeMaitre01
can flame me) FOOK YOU. brap on.
