A great film although I'm probably biased as I'm a huge fan of Factory
Records and New Order in particular
and know the story well. I've also just watched Closer, about Ian
Curtis the lead singer of Joy Division and
I highly recommend that too. Sam Riley is excellent as Curtis.
Cheers
Jeff

Hmm.....Wilson was never one to let the truth get in the way of a good
story, and the film took this a few steps further away from the actual
events. I thought it was so-so. Until I seen Control, which really is
brilliant!

I haven't seen either, but I wonder if we'll ever see a film about Pete De
Freitas... I imagine it would make a better story than Curtis, what with
being continuously bullied by Ian McCulloch, the shaven head episode,
fleeing to Iceland, joining the religious cult etc.

Not to mention playing cricket for England.

Well, you never know. Martyrdom is seldom associated with drummers tho, is
it? Had he left a lyrical legacy that would be pored over relentlessly and
analysed to the nth degree, maybe.
