i have a few hundred folders which contain the songs of each album AND
already a folder.jpg of the album (also a artist_album.jpg).

now, is there some way to automatically have every mp3 file include
that image file which is located in the folder include it in the ID3
tag?

thanks!

Tag & Rename gives you an option to include the cover jpg in the ID3 tag
that it generates.

Not automatic, but mp3tag will add a particular cover to selected mp3s

clive - yes, i can include the image in the id3 tag with the editor,
but the editor doesn't automatically read the folder.jpg file (at least
i can't figure out how to do it). i have to manually assign the image
and then it can save it in the id3 tag.

i am looking for a program that automatically takes the folder.jpg file
and associates it with the id3 tag of each file in that folder (like
windows media player: when it plays a file, it will show the folder.jpg
when the individual file plays).

i just tried MP3TAG, but when I check if a cover is associated, the
field is still emtpy! now i have to right click the list and choose
TAGS and then ADD COVER ... so that the folder.jpg file is associated
with it. not exactly something that i want to do with 800 cd's ...

am i missing something?

No, you would have to choose the jpg for each album and rewrite the tags
for all the mp3s.
