As far as I know, I'm a.m.m-k's only Nina Hagen fan (although then again
maybe I don't qualify as a *fan*, I've only owned 2 NH albums, & I didn't
like 1 of those, more about that in a sec...), I just re-transferred my
"NUNSEXMONKROCK" vinyl (my 1st having been transferred by the old stylus,
the new one is *much* better...), & I really really love this album...

While I was working on the transfer I stumbled across a page that reviews
all 4 NH albums, I very much agree with both reviews of the albums I have
heard, except that he wasn't hard enough on "Fearless", which I thought blew
donkey wad & is the main reason I haven't tried to score the 2 that I
haven't heard (The Nina Hagen Band (1st) & Unbehagen), having read the
reviews on this page I think I will try to find 'em (I don't suppose anyone
in this group has either of those 2 records on vinyl...I didn't think so)

In any event, the page invites you to make a short comment, & whoever
maintains the page had the questionable judgment to use my comments on
NUNSEXMONKROCK, which you can read here if you want to...

If anyone thinks they'd like to give NH a chance, I'll supply you a transfer
of my NUNSEXMONKROCK album. I'd read his review first (& the other 3 while
you're there), I agree with 99% of what he says about this album, the only
disagreement I have is the song UFO (It's in my comments after the
review...)

Heh. I never bought any of her albums, but I liked those of her songs I
heard on the radio to go see her in concert once. She put on one helluva
show. This must have been the tour she did to promote "Fearless," the
album you and the fellow on that fan page dislike so ... well, like I
said, I never bought the album, but I confess "Universal Radio" and "New
York New York" were guilty pleasures of mine. But that's not what turned
me on to Nina in the first place--it was that terrific cover, in German,
of "White Punks on Dope," which I now see is from that first album of
hers. Gotta love a Teutonic punk psycho-goddess shrieking and caterwauling
Tubes insanity in the language of Wagner.

Heh. I could add it to the pile of FZ transfers I'm slowly but surely
working my way through ...

p.s. Heh--next, ftss, you're gonna be telling me you're into Wendy O.
Williams too ... speaking about punk psycho-goddesses ...

NY NY was probably the best song on "Fearless" (gotta hate that title!
8^P ), & if the rest of that album was as good as that song, it still
wouldn't be nearly as good as NUNSEXMONKROCK. As it is, it's one OK song
amidst a whole lotta crap. <makes the holding the nose gesture>

I have heard that cover (I'm not sure where), & I like it but not nearly as
well as I like this album. Still, I'd like to hear that album, & even more
would I like to hear "Unbehagen" (for one I like the title, although how can
you *not* be drawn into an album called "NUNSEXMONKROCK"?)

Sigh. There should be an "enough" between the "radio" and the "to" up
there (we'll ignore the general unaesthetic lumpiness of that sentence for
the time being).
