Hi all,

I just a song called "The Ride" from Napster.
It says its an MJ demo song from 1994. It says Michael Jackson and Francis.
Anyone heard of this before? Whats the background info on it? Sound pretty
cool actually. Especially the vocals by MJ (?).

The song goes like this:

"So better stop the music, cos I am taking you for a ride, everything you
feels intensifies, "

I must admit... the sound it pretty KooL!
Is this an old song?

After listening to it properly.
It doesn't sound like MJ at all.

It is a pretty good impersonation.

Had me fooled for a while!

Thats how I envisioned MJs new sound would sound like. Jurky, like what the
Sony execs said.
Anybody know why it had MJs name on the title of the mp3?

Is it really a Prince song?

I have a feeling because the guy thought people would download it if it said
it was by Mj. It was pretty good if it was amateur. I don't think it sounds
like Prince. It may be a Prince cover?

That's right. I never said it was that song. I just thought I'd mention
Prince wrote a song called The Ride, just to get some class in here :-)

Hi JAWs,

How do you think MJ will sound in his new music for the 21st Century?
Will it be very different from his past works?  Do you think it will work?

I liked the words of the song the Ride
"So you better stop the music.... cos I am taking you for a ride,
everything you feel intensifies..."

A strange thing I noticed when I listened to 'the ride' is that in the first
30 seconds if you listen carefully you can hear the coin that goes into the
Jukebox in "Smooth Criminal' played serveral times in the background.  Did
you notice that?

John

"The Ride"
no it's def. NOT MJ singing, the only thing MJ related about it is that it might be the guy MJ sometimes has working for him that is also named Michael Jackson....he's like a musician, vocalists, mixer, producer, engineer......somethin like that....the 2 MJ's have worked together on a couple of the earlier solo album OTW and Thriller I believe.......our Mj thought it was really cool.used to walk into the studio and say Hi Mike or hey MJ and stuff like that and the other MJ would turn around and say the same thing back.just have fun with the name thing....maybe if that MJ, not our MJ, was involved in the process of creating the song somehow, that'd be about the only MJ having anything to do with the song.....it's definately not our Mike singing or anything
