honors as best-selling male and female artists of the millennium at the 12th
annual World Music Awards.
The awards, which honor the world's greatest-selling recording artists, were
given Wednesday night at a glamour-filled soiree at Monaco's famed seaside
Sporting Club and broadcast live to an estimated 900 million viewers in more
than 150 countries.
The two-hour special was organized under the patronage of Monaco's Prince
Albert and included a special guest appearance by the Goo Goo Dolls.

time. Elvis has sold about 15 million more than he has worldwide. As well,
the same can be said for Mariah. She may be a few over Madonna in the US, but
even the Mariah fans know that Madonna has sold more than Mariah around the
world. I don't know if this is a suspect of bad accounting or what, but there
is something seriously screwed up by awarding Mariah and Michael best-selling
female and male. And, in all honesty, the title Best of the Millennium is a
little much, given that only in the past 50 years has recorded music really
been a "thing?"

when people voted on TRL several times without deleting them meant. that
explains why Mariah went off the countdown. b/c many people were voting
for the song, but they werent aware that it could hurt the votes and

and doesnt prove anything. teens run the show and vote who "they think"
is the best and most popular. i mean for example. Britney Spears was on
the show Tuesday and then all of a sudden her single was #1. and Pink

countdown. so you see, the show is just for entertainment. it has
nothing to do with popularity. as for the mailing list, im not sure what
