I fail to see what my own accomplishments have to to with the way this man
plays the Theremin, but maybe you do see the connection.
But than again. That he uses the Theremin in a way I did not expect might be
okay. Depends on what he is trying to do.
Someone sayed to me: "If you smash a guitar on stage, than you are not using
the instrument the way it was intended, but it might serve to express
something."
Maybe this serves them quite well. Who am I to judge.
At no point in this discussion have you actually said what he's doing
with the Theremin that's not the standard technique.
So what's he doing, touching it or something?

I suck on the theremin regardless of what effects someone would try to
use. Probably has something to do with my mediocre sense of pitch.
Well, he is waving both hands up and down a lot, the pitch hand as well as
the volume hand.
Also when he is making 'vibrato' with the pitch hand, he does the same with
the volume hand.
So basically, he has almost no separate hand control.
And in my opinion he is just making 'noise' in stead of 'music'.
But like I mentioned: If it serves in what they are trying to express, who
am I to say that he is doing wrong?
He is just using the instrument the way I do not like it. I like people
making *music* with Theremins, that's all.
Has something to do with taste also and who wants to argue about that? :-)
