Just listened again and, darn it, you're probably right. Now that you
suggest "taught", it DOES sound like that and, upon reflection, "taught"
DOES agree with the immediately prior "teacher"--that's what teachers
did---they taught. Once in a while I get stuck on what I thought was an
original recording turned out to be a later re-recording where they sang
a little differently. This particular song I have only on a homemade
cassettte and I have no idea what source was used. Thanks for advising
me.
