hi

i've been trying to find out titles of a couple of songs from 1986.

google isnt helping.
(a lot of the time i can put in the words that i remember and append
'lyrics' and it can do a great job but not these times.)

one of them;
'home is where the heart is, [the heart is] home is where the fire is
burning' ...

i'd heard it loads of times, had a video to it, so im guessing it was some
kind of hit ..

the other one;
' .. be my new years resolution ..'

only heard it once but it stuck in my head and never left ..

both of them sounded pretty contemporary for the time ..

anyone have an idea? anything else i need to describe?

male singers in both cases, may aswell add that.

or, any suggestions as to where else to look, a site, organisation, another
special ng, even?

thanks

al from the UK

That, plus there have been only 5 new topics in the last 23 days on this
newsgroup. Not a whole lot of people use newsgroups for finding out
information anymore.

Yes.
I googled, based on your small text fragments. And my arrow points at
Creedence Clearwater Revival.

CCR... 1968-1972... 1986 can't match, you're right !
In France, because of the new FM radios, we still heard their bad music in
1986 anyway ; but it was oldies.
Same kind of musics and lyrics : Americ and Lynyrd Skynnard ; maybe ?

By "bad" do you mean as in sense #11 found at:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=bad&page=2
because CCR didn't get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by making
music that was horrible to listen to.

Did I write "horrible" ? No, not horrible, but not so good ; listen to
Beatles, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Doors... *that* is good music for me. CCR,
maybe in a lift...

Nah, the stuff I heard sounded pretty pop and contemporary for 1986 and from
what I heard of Lynyrd Skynnard its totally different to that. One of them I
remember had a video to go along with it. Well a certain style of pop music
video to accompany a hit was all the rage back then!

France, that reminds me. At the time, I was in Belgium wallonie, watching a
cable tv channel called musicbox.
That makes me think, was one of them a hit in europe or the uk, maybe both.
Im not sure musicbox exists anymore as a channel.
But this 'home is where the heart is' was a regular clip that was shown.
narrow it down to a period? at the same time, madonnas 'papa dont preach'
was also a hit in the same period ..

What about lyrics...I agree with your statement but will never go down
on CCR, they were just as great as The Kinks. For example.
