I am looking for the title and artist of a song I have heard a couple of
times on oldies radio stations. At the beginning of the song the lyrics
"Tick Tock, pass the clock" or something like that is sung in the
background, while the lead singer intones "What time is it" along with some
other lyrics. It sounds like a late 50's Doo Wop type song and may be
called "What Time Is It" but I'm not sure.
If anybody can help me....please identify the title and artist and Email
me at Ripp...@aol.com or post to this newsgroup.
Thanks a lot in advance for any help on this.
What Time Is It
- Artist: The Jive Five featuring Eugene Pitt
- peak Billboard position # 67 in 1962
- Words and Music by Bob Feldman, Richard Gottenhrer, and Jerry Goldstein
(Tick-tock, listen to the clock)
(Tick-tock, listen to the clock)
<intro continues behind lead through except where noted differently>
What time is it?
I've just got to know
What time is it? (It's five o'clock)
Three more hours to go
Till I hold her in my arms
And tell her that I want her for my own
(Tick-tock, tick-tock)
(Tick-tock, listen to the clock)
(Tick-tock, listen to the clock)
What time is it?
Tell me once again
What time is it? (It's six o'clock)
Two more hours and then
I will kiss her sweet lips
While the magic of the moonlight makes her mine
(Tick-tock, tick-tock, better hurry up)
And put my tie on
(Better hurry up)
It's almost time
(Tick-tock, listen to the clock)
(Tick-tock, listen to the clock)
What time is it? (It's seven o'clock)
Just one hour more
What time is it? (It's eight o'clock)
Now I'm at her door
And my heart is beating fast
The moment's here at last
What time is it? <two chimes>
(It's time for love)
<doo-wop scat to end>
