A number of instances spring to mind where the original artist wished to
- or may have wished to - suppress their work. Douglas Adams' posthumous
book "The Salmon of Doubt" was retrieved from his hard disk - allegedly
after he had erased it. Tolkien's "The Silmarillion" was completed by
his son from fragments Tolkien left. Cat Stevens - in his early Islam
days - tried to stop his songs being reproduced. Interestingly, 30 years
later, he revised his opinion that the Qur'an banned guitar music - and
he began playing his original songs again.
The Lightfoot boxed CD set contains several examples of early Lightfoot
songs; few are ones that I would list among my favourites.
