Gord is 58 years old and spends a lot of time in the elements of the
outdoors. Don't expect him to look like a Barbie doll.

Very well said, Angie. I will turn 60 a month after Gord turns 59. I
speak from experience when I say it isn't only your looks that change with
time. His stamina amazes me! I have a great admiration for his ability
to still attract younger fans as well as hold on to the old faithfuls. I
didn't see him in person when we were both still young and gorgeous! :-)
It's a good thing, really. I would have gone bonkers at a much younger
age. My family would have missed me!

In my heart, it's still 1974. Lightfoot will always be "young"
to me, because he was so much a part of my life back then.

At the July 11th show in Springfield, OH, I sat in the
3rd row, "up close, and personal" you might say.
When Lightfoot took the stage, he wasn't exactly
the mental image I had recalled from years gone by.
Then again, all I need to do is look in the mirror, and
notice how time has honored me with some wrinkles and
plenty of grey hairs hiding beneath the drug store
blond.

So, now , I'll just have to bow to the years, fast forward
to 1997. Our Mr. Lightfoot put on one helluva show
that night. We spoke briefly after the show, and he
commented that "working out had bought him a few
extra years." He seemed pleased to talk about his
sobriety, but did make a passing comment about
doing a lot of drinking in the old days.

I hope I have the same amount of energy when I'm
58, as he showed that night . And the next time I pull out
the Sundown album to daydream over the cover, I'll
have to remember to pull out my high school yearbook
from 1974.

Forever a Fan,
Angie
