the question being asked is about Steve Smith maybe
the person who LC dedicated Beautiful Losers to
as you are the BL expert we expect answers
like why is the dedication not present in later editions for a start

well, i've noticed that when i am very thirsty and fill my glass with water
my hand grips firmly onto the switched off tap while i drink. i've also
noticed that a man has the same expression on his face when filling his
petrol tank as when urinating into a hedge during a coach stop. the words
'pink floyd' have never slipped over leonard cohen's lips and blank pages in
my appointment book are like passports to paradise. shall we ask why, jack?
why ask for a riot when it's quiet? beautiful losers is an orchard where you
go in and pick the fruit you want. it's as unnecessary to ask the identity
of steve smith as to ask if a priest wanks because the answer lies in the
soil. it takes two hours to read beautiful losers, and that's exactly how
long elvis' feet touched british turf. anyone can sit cross-legged on the
floor and pass the same cigarette around but only a dentist can ask you to
shut your mouth without intending insult. not even cheap rashers of bacon
has those little hard white bits in it any more, so why look for problems?
