Babz/Sean,

Since the recent reinacted cat healing by LC and Sean's LA visit and
Babz reminder about twoshakes I went over to Greg's archive.
Tried to find where I made an ass of myself and attacked Sean with my
cat claws and found enough flaws in so many of my posts and pot shots
and hot shots; it was painful. Geez Louise, it is true, in my case,
that as I'm aging I forget how nasty and horrible the ng was at times;
and how arrogant I could be. Growing pains? Showing pains? Hell, i
suppose it's good that the ng has slowing pains now; including me. I
sure do have a selective memory but maybe that's a good thing?!
(Please consider this a very late apology if I've been nasty to any of
you back in the day.)

Oh how true! The thing is, when I first started posting I was very
sensitive. Usenet was a totally new experience for me. I wouldn't be
quite so touchy now, except for that jerk over on the chat room, (who
lives there apparently.) He was rude to me last year and I got all
bent outta shape over it and haven't been back there. But mostly I let
people push me around a little more : ) You shouldn't feel bad, Dar.
There's plenty of regret to go around. Truly, I think one of the few
people who was always nice was . . . .

Zimmy!

I do think we sometimes idealize the old ng, though. It really did get
evil here sometimes, so maybe we shouldn't dis the forum so much. I
like the format here better, and the sort of wild west no rules vibe.
I wonder if usenet will even be here in ten years?

I'm more concerned if I will be here (or anywhere) in ten years!

I've already gotten way too mushy way too many times about Zimmy...
but
you're right... he's a prince.

BTW, I've been viewing old posts on Google, not on ~Greg's site. My
worst
infraction was commenting "fresh meat" when ~greg first joined the
group.
I apologized so many times ~greg finally told me to quit it... it
wouldn't do
any good anyway! ;-)

Sigh!

I don't think I've dissed the forum, I'm in awe of what Jaarko has
done...
I just find it too much info for this criss-crossed neuron medicated
brain.

Well hi there Dar, Babz, Sean, Zimmy and all other lags from past days that
may pass by here from time to time (like me!)

Personally I think all of you were lovely - to me at any rate, but then
again I was lovely to all of you apart from a certain cabbage oriented
"poet". Some of the cat fights here were a little "unsalubrious" though as I
recall.

Anyhows; reading these bits and the thread name checking ~Greg's archive I
thought I'd take a trip down memory lane and found this small piece of
prescience from yours truly:

Nick Drake is one of the reasons why *no-one*, either as poet or musician,
should ever be forgotten. Nick was superbly talented, yet, other than by a
few, was ignored for his sadly (suicide induced, maybe; contentious
statement) short life. One day, years hence, LC will be properly
*re-discovered* as Nick is starting to be. If anyone here hasn't heard him,
then *do* go out and listen. If you like Leonard then I'll be surprised if
you don't like Nick.

Bet none of you knew such genius lurked amongst the disparate bunch of LC
fans that used to pass the time here, did you? /modesty :--)

BigAl,

I also feel that Nick Drake is a very underrated artist. His songs are
so delicately woven with an underlying sense of sadness.

LC fans in partiicular should invest in the CD box set Fruit Tree which
packages all of Nick's releases. You won't regret it.

Genius indeed and prophetic! I also recall some speculation early on
regarding your user name. Certain unnamed speculators read it:
BiGalsGreat,
a valid opinion as opinions go, had it been one. ;-)

Thanks for the recommendation, Tom. Long, long ago, Tim sent me copies
of
a few Drake CD's. I'll put Fruit Tree on my list. Grrrrrreat to see
you guys.

I really, really, really enjoyed what you wrote up about Leonard
healing your precious kitty, Sean. I read it out loud to my partner
and we both particularly enjoyed the part about Leonard being a
fucking weirdo. Because that probably has a lot to do with why I'm
such a fucking weirdo : )

I also really, really, really enjoy the little activity going on here,
even if I'm not saying it out loud.
